Jd Drew, Chad Tracy, and that oh so delicate Albert Belle.

April 28, 2021 at 9:46 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 24 thread – Wednesday, April 28 vs Phillies #159497First time I’ve seen Miller throw this year. His slider looks a lot loopier than what I recall
April 28, 2021 at 5:49 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 24 thread – Wednesday, April 28 vs Phillies #159396No Sosa…., but no Carpenter. I’ll take it. I’m glad they have the “A” defence in for a rookie on the mound.
Drew Pomeranz is not that bad. 2014-2017 were good to great, including an all star nod and deserving another. Now if he becomes STU Pomeranz, Drew’s bother and former Cardinal farmhand, that would be disappointing
I look at Knizner as Kelly Stinnett 2.0. Which I would be just fine with.
April 26, 2021 at 7:26 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 22 thread – Monday, April 26 vs Phillies #159221Glad to hear the account. Hoping to watch the game after the wife and son hit the hay. Right now Mr Monkey is on the ol tube at Casa Perkins
I’ll be seeing some games in Springfield early in the year. I’ll have the 1 1/2yr old and the pregnant wife along so the reports will not be very detailed.
Dave Veres was tough to watch. All they had to do was not swing and every pitch ended up in the dirt.
April 25, 2021 at 9:37 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 21 thread – Sunday, April 25 vs. Reds #159170I can only think of one guy who did that and I think the union about had a fit. Gil Meche manned up and walked away from easy money from a team that couldn’t afford to miss on their big contracts.
April 25, 2021 at 9:34 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 21 thread – Sunday, April 25 vs. Reds #159169Carpenter can’t just announce retirement and walk away, particularly if he has Andrew Miller in his ear. But an injury that lingers and prevents him from being re-activated would pass the eye test. I guess if owners can manipulate service time, players should be able to milk the DL and receive their cash.
April 24, 2021 at 3:46 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 20 thread – Saturday, April 24 vs. Reds #159077My favorite memory of glass bottle style soda is the pop machine with the door. My brother and I were sure that if you pulled on 2 bottles carefully at EXACTLY the same time you might get an extra soda but it never worked.
April 24, 2021 at 2:39 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 20 thread – Saturday, April 24 vs. Reds #159068Ribeye steak in the Air Fryer??!? That is a clear cut case of animal abuse! Got some kids-in-law over so I’m trying to keep sane while munching on oreos and following the game online.
April 23, 2021 at 6:49 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 19 thread – Friday, April 23 vs. Reds #158957I like the idea of 2 guys hitting 3rd at same time, Mike, but one should be lefty and one righty so they each have a chance to hit it. And MrsPerkins has been slow cooking Corned Beef and has just started on the cabbage and potatoes as I got home from work. Should be done in time for first pitch.
April 23, 2021 at 5:19 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 19 thread – Friday, April 23 vs. Reds #158949Well, possibly Carpenter still thinks he can play and if he plays everyday and continues to stink it up he will walk away. That’s about the only rationale I can fathom for downgrading the defence between Carp and O’neil
April 22, 2021 at 7:49 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #158914It sure looks like we did well to pass on Joc Peterson despite many saying he would be perfect here. Reading comments on MLBtraderumors(due to him being DL’d) from people who have been watching him regularly and they are not complimentary.

The rule V OF/Pinch runner that was supposed to be a rocket scientist or whatever. Not even sure he was 0 but he popped in my mind immediately.
