Edman could do easily bunt his way on here

Well not a terrible start, got one run though scherzer was ripe for the plucking there. Arenado especially had pitches to drive but oh well. Go waino

Solid first inning there for the offense. Would have been nice to hit a couple of the Scherzer mistakes but I’ll take the lead.

I don’t know where waino was trying to pitch Betts but right down the middle isn’t going to work.

Nice small ball in the first. We score one in the top of the first 10 years ago in that classic Halladay-Carpenter match up and it held up. Deja vu all over again??

Waino toughs it out to get that bunt down and move Laser Bader over!

On gameday looks like Wainwright bunted at ball 4 but I’d rather he didn’t run the bases and Bader had at least one close pitch so Sherzer was due for a close one to go his way

As good of a play as Edman has ever made.

Waino has the juices going, hitting 91mph a couple times against Will Smith

Waino got lucky with that last pitch. Sometimes the fill in guy turns out to be the hero, but not there.

Need some runs in inning 3. Waino mixing his pitches well and keeping them off balance so far. Scherzer at 49 pitches no outs in the third, and a single by Goldy. Keep the line moving!

St. Louis has had some great athletes. Wasn’t Charlie James from the Lou? I think he played football at Mizzou as well. Jerry Buchek, Ryan Howard, the Spinks brothers, and of course Jackie Joyner.

Scherzer not in his best form, but Cards aren’t really making him pay — yet.

2 good plays by Beaty. Waino facing the bottom of the order. Go Cardinals!

Scherzer is throwing a lot of pitches. May only be a 5 inning game for him. But you’d like to see the Cards push a couple more runs across while he’s scuffling.

Max with 60 heaves thru 3. Would love to only see two more innings of Scherzer…..even one who’s not totally on his game tonight.

You know you have a powerhouse lineup when Bellinger is hitting eighth.

Just not getting it done offensively. Scherzer has struggled but still not hitting him. Our offense was starting to struggle towards end of the streak as well at end of season. Now waino is goofing off, walking the first batter. Not smart especially with a weak hitter like bellinger. Now they can bunt him over.
