stlcard25ParticipantWouldn’t it be something if the guy they got for Matt Adams makes a surprise appearance and hits a game winning homer to beat the Dodgers? That would be story!
October 6, 2021 at 10:41 am #174403Seems like Wainwright struggles on the road in big playoff games. I am expecting the Doyers to jump on us early. I am going to call this one 9-1 Doyers. Hope I am wrong. But as Pugs will tell you, I am almost always right.

October 6, 2021 at 12:24 pm #174406Do we know which two are cut from the WC game roster?
October 6, 2021 at 12:35 pm #174409With Juan Yepez added to the 40-man and 26-man, the #stlcards designated Memphis RHR Seth Elledge for assignment. The three current MLB players not active for the Wild Card are JA Happ, Jon Lester and Jake Woodford. 28-3+1=26.

October 6, 2021 at 12:39 pm #174410If @Little_Juan07 were to appear in tonight's Wild Card game, he would become the 6th player in MLB history to make his Major League debut in the postseason and first Cardinals player in franchise history to do so. pic.twitter.com/n1WK1pegUV

stlcard25ParticipantAdding Yepez now seems weird but he has been hot for months and it’d be slightly harder for the Dodgers to scout him. I’m thinking he will get to pinch hit at some point.
October 6, 2021 at 1:21 pm #174414My quick take on today's #stlcards roster moves, including the ascension of The Cardinal Nation's no. 14 prospect IF/OF Juan Yepez and what may be next for DFAed RHR Seth Elledge. (free) https://t.co/aDeOBChF63 pic.twitter.com/5rTP6aYVyk

October 6, 2021 at 3:05 pm #1744171. Tommy Edman (S) 2B
2. Paul Goldschmidt (R) 1B
3. Tyler O’Neill (R) LF
4. Nolan Arenado (R) 3B
5. Dylan Carlson (S) RF

9. Adam Wainwright (R) POctober 6, 2021 at 3:10 pm #174418
stlcard25ParticipantI feel like this game will involve a little more offense than we think. Maybe a 5-4 game. I just can’t predict the team coming out on top, but I’ll be optimistic and say the Cards move on.
October 6, 2021 at 3:30 pm #174419WE need to jump on Scherzer early if we want to have a shot on the road. An early lead and a few scoreless frames from Waino could make them tighten up.
Tough to predict a win over Scherzer and the Dodgers but got to believe
October 6, 2021 at 4:23 pm #174420The Dodgers have a history of blowing it, especially at home. Lost Game 7 in 2017 to the Astros at Doyer Stadium. Lost Game 5 to the Nationals in 2019 at Doyer Stadium. If we happen to get an early lead they might start to smell doom and gloom again.
But as I’ve said, this is Max Scherzer pitching. And Wainwright isnt exactly Bob Gibson either. Once again I am going to call this one 9-1 Doyers. And I hope I am wrong.
Din-din today was the weekly trip the the Amish restaurant. Meatloaf, fried chicken, mashed potatoes/gravy, noodles, green beans, dressing, and a bowl of chili. Some apple stuff and also some chocolate soft serve ice cream for dessert.

October 6, 2021 at 4:57 pm #174421Pujols hits a 2 run bomb in the bottom of the 9th.
Cards win 9-2.

ParticipantI’m hoping we have one of those magical moments and our offense explodes early. I’m hopeful that waino is at his best but pitch for pitch, scherzer can be lights out. If we rock him early, maybe gets him off his game. I’m hopeful as a fan but I just don’t think we come out on top of it’s a pitchers duel.
October 6, 2021 at 5:30 pm #174423Scherzer schmerzer. My hope is that this game does not turn into a blowout. I do not want to be turning this game off after 5 innings. Hopefully, LA can mount some sort of a challenge, so to keep us on our toes entering our upcoming series with SF. I’m calling it 7-3 Birds with Goldy going long and “Pez” registering his first ML hit. For din-din it’ll be creamed chipped beef over white toast, fried potatoes, oatmeal totally encompassed in sugar, coffee with cream and sugar and chilled cranberry juice.
October 6, 2021 at 6:13 pm #174424My heart is telling me cardinals team of destiny. 10 year anniversary of carpenter winning game 5 vs Halladay. Yesterday 10 year anniversary of rally squirrel. But logic and my head beat my heart.
Dodgers 5
Cardinals 1
Wainwright goes 6 gives up 3
Reyes gives up 2October 6, 2021 at 6:30 pm #174425After the AL game last night, I thought this one may go the same way with the home team winning along the lines of 6-2. Scherzer striking out 11 in 6 innings of work.
But I don’t know. Really don’t have a strong feeling either way on this one. I can see us in a surprise win, as the Dodgers often disappoint in the post season. They finally broke through last year so maybe it is time for them to fall back again.
I will go out on a limb and call this 5-2 St. Lou.
October 6, 2021 at 6:34 pm #1744266-3 the good guys
October 6, 2021 at 6:35 pm #174427Oh, no cable for us so it will be radio listening, and some banter with you guys.
October 6, 2021 at 6:36 pm #174428Good evening Cardinals Nation. At the beginning of September… I think it’s safe to say that not many of us thought we’d be in this spot. Regardless of what happens tonight, I am proud of this team and their resilience and not giving up. We are not expected to win tonight but 30 games ago, we weren’t expected to be here but look at us now. Tonight we need to play Cardinals ball, play smart.. no mistakes and we will give ourselves a chance which is all we can ask for. We are a little over 30 minutes from first pitch… my heart is racing… Good luck to Waino and the whole Cardinals team. You’ve come along way.. you got this. Go Cardinals.
October 6, 2021 at 6:43 pm #174429Thank you David, KansasCardFan & 1946WSChamps. Will look forward, as always, to BicycleMike’s banter. You may have to wait for that sun to go down before getting the KMOX signal, BicycleMike.

MrperkinsParticipantThis late run got the fans excited. At least it will boost off season ticket sales. I hope I’m wrong but I am envisioning classic Scherzer. 3-0 Dodgers with Waino gutting his way through 5 innings with 2 runs and a few walks and being pulled for Carpenter to pinch hit strike out.
October 6, 2021 at 6:51 pm #174431
MrperkinsParticipantI’ll be following the mlb app while trying to keep the guys at work from fighting each other
October 6, 2021 at 7:02 pm #1744321982 willie
ParticipantListening to the pregame guys is hard, had to turn volume down. Would like to listen to the radio and watch the tv but the radio is so far ahead of the tv broadcast it makes it difficult.
October 6, 2021 at 7:08 pm #174433I have a feeling this may go down to the bullpen.
