Biggest fears over the offseason is that the pitching wasn’t going to be very good…they showed today that the pitching might be worse than not very good….this is a 90 win offense with a 70 win pitching….
Players will never agree to any kind of salary cap
But the problem is the Cards have NOT competed at all in the post season they just get escorted out of ir early every year. They build a team that can win a very weak division that is it..
Because they value their prospects much higher than other teams it seems, that was 100% on display with the whole Oak offseason talks for their catcher. Plus when was the last time the Cards when out and traded for a true Ace SP? It won’t happen again they will go for lower hanging fruits and hope to get lucky…..just like they are going into the season hoping all their big question marks all of a sudden turn to gold…it just unlikely to happen
I think I’m with you 1toughdominican. While San Diego certainly has a great shot too, I’m going to say the Cardinals score the most runs in the NL this year.
I am not sure the Cards will be in top 3 in the NL in runs alone…..
The cards are what they are…..their owner is more in it for $$ in his pocket than winning WS titles an he has proven that time and time again. Sure he wants to make sure they can at least compete for the division beyond that he has no wants of spending anymore $$ to put them over the top. The team this year is case i point, sure they are a solid to good team and favorite to win the division, but don’t stand a chance in post season with their current rotation. There is nobody in that rotation that scares anybody at all.
Yeah Mo said they have 6 starters, but not one of them is a legit Ace that should be starting game one of any series…Add in the offense is still no better than it was last year that got run out of the playoffs first round, if that is what we want again to just get run out first round then Mo did his job.
A nightmare lineup for opposing pitchers –
Winn CF
Donovan 2B
Goldschmidt 1B
Arenado 3B
Walker RF
Gorman LF
Murphy C
Yepez/Burleson DH
Edman SSThat would be a nightmare for Cardinal pitchers to…yikes that OF….ugh no experience there at all and want to put top SS prospect in CF is just dumb

August 2, 2022 at 5:00 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #193689The Cards insist that their goal is a championship. Here are results of previous trade deadlines:
2022:

Chris Stratton
Jordan Montgomery (while trading their starting CF)…..2021:
Jon Lester
JA Happ
TJ Zeuch2020:
Domingo Robles2019:
Tony Cingrani
Jeffrey AbreuActions speak louder than words and these actions show they really don’t give a crap!
gscott lol saying we will be fine if Arenado leaves is comical as can be…
Yeah lets stay from an absolute STUD of a player who is only 23 and already one of best in baseball great idea!!
Cards continue to show they are fine being a WC team and getting beat in first or 2nd round of playoffs….front office is a joke.
Trading with the Rays usually is a bad idea as they come out on top of most deals and i feel the same way about the Libby trade to…
Have i missed something or have the Card only selected college players so far?
who the heck…seems like waste of a pick there
July 14, 2022 at 6:32 am in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 91 thread – Wednesday, July 13 vs. Dodgers #191207Cards have one of the worst and cheapest front offices around…..constantly making stupid moves by sending younger better pitching options to the minors to keep garbage like McFarland, and Ver Hagen on the roster…..
And doesn’t help they hired nothing more than a clueless “yes clown” manager to run this team. Oli has no clue what the heck he is doing and that is a fact….his garbage bullpen management is a joke and he cost the cardinals games over and over all year…..
Total respect for REALMUTO, the vax has already shown that it doesn’t stop you from getting it anyway. Him standing up for himself is great tell the Canadian Gov to shove it!
LoL @ Waino isn’t that great…talk about all time silly comment…but coming from the guy that does nothing but BASH cardinal players…. got to wonder why even be a fan
