I don’t agree with keeping O’Neill and moving Bader. But maybe they think he’s done for the year.
Pallante probably back to the pen. McFarland finally gone?? Pallante the middle relief help they needed?I had a sense Carlson had pinned down the CF spot given his play since Bader was hurt. And that frees up a corner spot for a bat upgrade from Bader. With Bader’s injury, I, too, am surprised. If it’s really Bader for Montgomery it seems like a pretty good deal, much as I’ll miss Bader’s play in CF.
I knew this was coming with regards to Bader.
Bader and his pretty boy antics won’t be missed by me. I said it a long time ago, if he wants to act cute and funny he could go play for the Yankees. He didn’t act like a hard nosed St. Louis Cardinal baseball player.
And this Montgomery guy, he’s only walked 23 in 115 innings. Maybe we have a guy that can throw the ball over the plate.

Well, it looks like Mo has addressed the gaps in the pitching staff. Two of the guys are still under control for next season.
Did Bader find himself in the dog house? Or, did the Cards figure he is what he is and do not expect much more. I kinda figured he hit on both points.
I don’t know why I keep hoping McFarland will be gone. I’m sure they will just option out Thompson.

Yes but it is the Yankees who don’t tolerate long hair or facial hair.
I think they moved Bader because he has plantar fasciitis, which is a chronic condition.
I guess this means Burleson is getting promoted!

Strangely, his primary value to the Cardinals was on defense, and his career hitting line is right in line with Edman’s.

My guess is Pallante stays in the rotation and Hudson starts getting his IP scaled back, going forward.
I hate to see one of our rabbits traded, but, we traded from depth to fill the need I have been stumping for. Feels a lot like last yrs deadline.
