This would be a great game to win. Gonsolin has virtually unhittable.

I was without internet for a week. Did I miss anything? I see we nipped the Bums’ bums last night so it couldn’t have been all bad.

We’ll start our return to tech civilization tonight with a din-din of chicken pot pie, using up some leftover fowl from coupla days ago, an old family favorite specially requested by the grands (and not too much work for Pappy), and daughter to chip in with a crisp green salad. No desert on the horizon however.

Gonsolin Smonsolin…. we’ll get to this guy tonight with Knizner and Dickerson finally discovering the many benefits that a Louisville slugger can afford. I’m calling this one 5-3 Birds with Knizner whacking a ringing rbi double much to the dismay of the once unbeaten Dodger starter.

Glad to have the esteemed CIF back in the Cardinal Nation saddle. Game thread din-dins have taken a bit of a hit without our good friend from the south of France. It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since Cardinal In France’s grand grandkids last visited him. Spoil them rotten, CIF!

We should refer to TJ as Packy McFarland. Might help.

With Packy and Cabrera thriving I would only use TJ in extreme mop up duty. Maybe a 10 run lead or 10 run deficit.

Are we stuck with VerHagen for two years or one? I can’t remember.

Hopefully that’s low enough that his leash is very short here in the second half. I like the way the youngsters have performed and would like them to get more run to be ready for 2023.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the leash is short for TJ, VHagen and Dickerson coming back from their IL stints.
Dickerson is helping, himself and the club since returning.
    Donovan still not starting.

On a good note…..the Twins down the Brewers 4-1 today at Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis. I believe it was a walk-off three run homer off of Hader in the last of the 9th that spelled doom for the Brew Crew. Milwaukee now heads west for a four game series with the Giants at Candlestick Park beginning Thursday night.

After tonight we could possibly be within one game of first place.

No din-din for Rat today? From past experience, I can pretty much tell you what he had. It’s Wednesday, so Rat frequented the Amish restaurant called “The Gasthof”…..which would have been better named “The Galloping Gasthof”. Rat indulged in the fish, chicken and meatloaf. Plus, he consumed mass quantities of the mashed potatoes, green beans and potato salad. To top matters off, Rat then turned his attention to the peach cobbler, cherry pie and vanilla ice cream. Then he immediately went home to hop on his riding lawn mower, spending an hour and half cruising back and forth on his lawn while puffing on one of his Real Palma cigars.

The slumping Goldy just waved at a pitch that was inside the chalk in the left hand batter’s box.

Yeah Pugs but where was Whitey at? For Din-din we had something new. Prepackaged health food dinners. Almost no carbs at all. My son got em but hes working so much so he got behind in eating them. Actually really tasty. Kinda like a tv dinner.
Great game for us last night. I like our lineup and Waino’s looking good so far.
    Go Cardinals!

Instant dp at 2nd for Gorman hit it to him in the air and put his foot on the bag for the force. Don’t see that a whole lot.

Those slow pitchers in the american legion league need to see what goes on in the Senior Circuit. Real baseball. This is a good matchup between two good Pitchers here.

Excellent at-bat by Goldy. 2-0 Cards. That’s why he’s an all star.

Well so far so good. Still a long way to go in the game but I think waino will finish strong though due to his early troubles, we will need a good bullpen tonight.
