Starting to feel to me like Liberatore is the pitcher we put in when we are basically conceding! My guess is we won’t really do anything worthwhile at the deadline!
Carlson cost us the game imo! Just don’t think you can make an argument for him being in the line up, ever! We have 9 better players every day, even against lefties I would not have him in there!
In my dream trade deadline scenario we find someone willing to give us a top prospect for Goldschmidt and then acquire George Springer and Lane Thomas to play the corner outfield spots!
858 I won’t be down in the dumps! I’m fully aware we won’t get any real offense at the deadline! When is the last time that happened? Matt Holliday? There are plenty of hitters who would be better than what we have available! But we won’t do anything big! And we will continue to languish in the bottom 3rd of mlb in runs scored because this line up is not very good!
They do a great job of taking the average player and getting the maximum out of their ability! I wish we were as good at it as they are!
3 runs in 27 innings against the Pirates! It’s a miracle we didn’t get swept! We need hitters right away! They have played over 100 games already! I know many want pitching at the deadline but I think we need hitters! After our first three hitters you have almost nothing!
Liberatore was not good, but it should have been 2 to 0 instead of 4 is Siani would have been in center! Saying your playing Carlson for offense is a baseball oxymoron!

The decision to pull Gibson was a game changer! Gibson couldn’t have done any worse! I don’t know about everyone but when Rosario homered I figured game over! Felt we had to win with 2! I know an argument can me made for pulling Gibson there but hindsight says it was a tragic error!
It’s amazing to me that the rest of the league hits Hendricks like a drum but he still owns us! I know we don’t have great hitting but we make him look like Greg Maddux every time he faces us!
It’s embarrassing! We need major lineup changes! Goldschmidt needs to go IMO! We can get the same production from Luken Baker! Not saying Baker is any good, but just as good as Goldschmidt!
I have never seen a Cardinal team this poor in the clutch! We simply can not hit with RISP! Doesn’t matter where we are in the lineup and who it is! We are winning but it’s not sustainable unless someone, anyone can start hitting when it matters!
Gorman is not gonna fix the Cardinals! He has over 1,000 at bats and he just can’t make enough contact to make his power play! Even in college he had a hard time making contact! If you look at Gorman as a left handed DH who will hit 7th or 8th and bat 210 with 25 homers you might get that!
If the rumors were true that Seattle was willing to trade Logan Gilbert for Gorman we really screwed up not doing it!
Time to face the fact that Nolan Gorman is not a big league hitter! His at bats are depressing! He needs to go to Memphis and at least attempt to put his bat on the ball!
What’s it gonna take to fix the Cardinals? Depends on what you mean by fix. Some on here seem to think we are already fixed! Fixed to them means trying really hard to be somewhere between 5 and 10 spots and maybe 5 games within reach of a playoff spot! That is not fixed to me! We have one high quality starter! We need at least 2 more to be fixed imo! We have no hitting to speak of and zero clutch hitting! That has to be fixed! I am overjoyed that we are competing for the last WC spot but doubt we will be able to hold onto it!
There are simply better teams than uscompeting for the final spot! Arizona and Mets come to mind! Arenado and Goldschmidt are meer shells of their once great selves! Gorman has more wholes in his swing than a piece of Swiss cheese! Walker can’t even really hit for power at AAA
Bling mentions not trading away any Cy or MVP’s! Who the heck would they be? I don’t see anyone we have in danger of winning one of those awards!
Fixed to me means 2004 to 2014 Cardinals! A team capable of winning it all! We are so far removed from those teams that getting back to there seems almost impossible to me!
Worst loss of the year IMO! Yes we have overachieved but leaving Lynn in as long as he did was just dumb! We have given several games away this month! It’s gotta stop!
Bad teams find ways to lose! We have now given away two of the last three games! I think some on this team have just accepted losing!
