I agree Oviedo should start over DeLeon or Grant! His stuff is awesome!

So true about 76! No hitting all year and way too much pressure on pitching. Sound familiar! The truth is we have 4 hitters
    Edman
    Goldschmidt
    Arenado
    Molina

    One we hope will hit
    Carlson

And 4 spots in lineup that are outs 90% of the time! That has to change for us to be competitive at the end of the year! Hopefully Thomas and Dean can start making improvements today!

Good points I suppose! The bottom line is you prefer O’ Neill over Puig or Reddick and I would prefer either of these two! Unfortunately we are stuck watching O’Neill swing and miss over and over and have to listen to “ he just needs more chances” I have seen enough to know! Yes he might hit 25 homers for a bottom feeder team one day that are willing to live with his 200 K’s to go along with them! I just just prefer if the Cardinals are not that team!

I would take either over O’Neill anytime anywhere against any pitcher! I figure it this way! It is the 9th inning, the game is on the line you are the opposing manager and you are about to have to face either Puig Reddick or O’Neill! I would bet that 30 out of 30 would pick to face O’Neill! I may be wrong but I doubt it!

As far as next years free agents go I would hope they go after Carlos Correa for SS! Talk about an upgrade!

If you think they are not upgrades over O’Neill and Williams you ain’t been watching!

All those averages you are showing are head and shoulders better than anything we see day to day in the outfield! I love Puig also but think Reddick is much better fit for the “cardinal” way!

    I would:
Bench Dejong and give Sosa two weeks at least at ss and see what happens
Bench O’ Neill and let Austin Dean have at least 2 weeks
Bench Williams and let Lance Thomas have a couple of weeks
Sign Josh Reddick he is available and would bring in solid defense, solid bat and great team guy!

I’m just really tired of the word prospect being used on Dejong O’Neill and Bader they have had plenty of mlb at bats! They are NOT prospects! They just suck! Can’t hit, ain’t never gonna hit and have now played so long they have no trade value because the other 29 teams also know they suck

    DeJong batting 4th is embarrassing

    A couple of thoughts:
Arozarena is head and shoulders better than these others! He had a great playoff and as of today is hitting 280 this season! If Tampa called today and offered Arozarena for O’Neill, Bader and Thomas we would do it in a heart beat! I leave Carlson out on purpose because I do believe those in power rightfully still believe he may be an everyday player. Secondly, many have rightfully said that winning cures all ills and it is true! But when we go 2 and 5 over 7 games and out outfielders are still not hitting the outcry for change will be very loud! Lastly, how long is long enough? Bader and O’Neill have been up a long time now and have never hit! I’m pretty sure they are not going to! The problem for Mo and office is they gave up on Randy so quickly and he blossomed for someone else and we keep waiting for one of these guys to blossom and I’m afraid we are just wasting time!

I agree Puig is risky but Josh Reddick is great fielder solid 270 hitter and great team guy and would be a huge upgrade from what we have right now and probably pretty cheap!

After watching out current outfield bat 7 for 58 or 120 I wonder if Yasiel Puig is still available?

After today our opening day outfield is a combined 7 for 55 a 127 batting average! Yep I’d say for sure the worst hitting outfield so far this year and if things don’t get better soon Thomas Nogiwski and others will start getting chances! It is great that all 3 of Carlson’s hits have been homers but 158 ain’t very good!

We may have the worst hitting outfield in MLB history!
