First, Arenado is absolutely useless – WORTHLESS – when it’s a clutch situation. I hope we can find some sucker to take his contract from us. And I don’t care what stats you can throw out.
Second, anybody notice that Pages looks like Bryson DeChambeau?

On a good note……
The Giants get a three run homer in the top of the 9th at Wrigley and beat the Cubs 7-6.
The Pirates win over the Reds 4-1 at Forbes Field. Skenes the winner.
And the Angels win over the Brewers 5-3 out in Anaheim.
OK. I’m a hypocrite. I’ve been on the rebuild side. And I still am if that means moving goldy and arenado. But as of last week I’ve been scoreboard watching. First time in over a year. It’s fun and adds to the game. Go Cards. Bury the pretenders behind you, pick up a game a week on the lead. That’s the way a chase works.
The Cardinals are now sitting in the second wild card spot. Unless they have a complete collapse in the next month similar to what the Cubs are currently going through then we can set aside the notion that they will be sellers. That isn’t happening. They are buyers.
The way the younger guys are carrying the club right now, I would go this way with tonight’s lineup (it won’t happen, just throwing it out there):

Burleson, DH
Gorman, 2b
Goldschmidt, 1b
Donovan, lf
Arenado, 3b
Carlson, rf
Herrera, cSiani at the two slot to move Winn over when he is on base. Herrera giving Pages a day off, but if you want to vote for Pedro to keep playing I am good with that as well.
I see Nick Robertson is back and in Memphis now. I guess this may count as rehab, but I’m presuming he stays there until there’s a need on the MLB roster. Contreras also is in the game in Memphis today. He got a base hit in his 2nd at bat after reaching on an error in his first AB. He struck out in his 3rd one.
Gallegos has now made 3 or 4 rehab appearances as well (albeit with terrible results).
Din-din today will be a Hungry Man’s Roasted Turkey TV dinner. Along with some Bar-b-q chips, a Pepsi, and a bowl of Turkey Hill Vanilla Bean ice cream.
Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for this one tonight. Along with a couple of cigars. Then after the game it will be time to jog and then hit the shower. After that a late night snack of Great Northern Beans, another cigar, while we watch the Brewers and Angels game from Anaheim. Then after that another late late cigar whilst we watch a couple of episodes of Dragnet.
How soon are we expecting Contreras back? Is he completely healed and not being rushed back?

Yeah, very interesting on Crawford at 3B. I like it though. His bat has been better, he clearly has enough arm strength, and Arenado needs a day off after his last couple days of pour swings.
