After watching the Cubs handle the same Padres that killed us and watching the start of this game tonight we are headed in the wrong direction for sure! Hopefully we can play the Pirates again soon! Lol!
I thought this would be our strength coming into the season but I was wrong! I still love the arms but we lead the league in so many bad categories, strike %, hit batsmen, walks, first pitch strikes that something has to change. I don’t think this is going to be fixed externally because we do outside should be done to fix the offense IMO! These guys need to start throwing strikes and since you can’t fire all of them I’m wondering if Maddux may end up being the sacrificial lamb! These guys have great stuff and perhaps a new voice could make a difference! Just watch how few times our relievers are able to throw first pitch strikes, it makes no sense!

May 28, 2021 at 11:33 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 51 thread – Friday, May 28 at D-backs #162673Man I bet out pitching coach when he goes home at night is tired of saying “ just throw strikes”
May 28, 2021 at 9:49 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 51 thread – Friday, May 28 at D-backs #162652Watching this guy pitch is a microcasm of our whole pitching staff! Super talented but can’t throw strikes! To be this poor throwing strikes is ridiculous!
May 28, 2021 at 9:29 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 51 thread – Friday, May 28 at D-backs #162647One of the biggest difference between baseball now and baseball in the 70s through 90’s is tonight’s pitcher Oviedo! In those earlier decades he would have stayed at AA or AAA until he learned how to throw strikes and pitch! This kid is talented but is nowhere near ready for MLB!
May 24, 2021 at 8:48 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 47 thread – Monday, May 24 at White Sox #162281This offense is pitiful! It is hard to pick between Lance Thomas and Justin Williams who is least pro ready! 32 innings and 5 runs! We need offense help NOW!

Sosa needs to play every day! We have to major issues, to me, our line up is simply not strong enough that the end, from 6-8 and our pitchers are unable to find the strike zone! Carlson is solid in the OF but I have little faith in all the others! O’Neill is a K machine and Bader will never hit over 230 or so in MLB IMO! For us to make a playoff run we would a solid bat that could hit somewhere in that 6-8 position and our pitchers need to consistently find the strike zone! We need batting help desperately to compete.
Balls and walks have become a disease for this team! Up 6 runs and out best pitcher can’t throw strikes! Come on man!
May 18, 2021 at 9:16 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 42 thread – Tuesday, May 18 vs. Pirates #161701To say Justin Williams is overmatched at this level is a gross understatement!
May 18, 2021 at 7:09 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 42 thread – Tuesday, May 18 vs. Pirates #161684I wonder if we could get the Rockies to trade us Trevor Story for Carpenter and Dejong? We basically got Arenado for Gomber so maybe…..
May 16, 2021 at 9:21 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 41 thread – Sunday, May 16 at Padres #161570And we are watching yet another example of the issue with walks and control!
May 16, 2021 at 8:49 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 41 thread – Sunday, May 16 at Padres #161562Getting beat three in a row by the SD B team is awful!
May 16, 2021 at 8:30 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 41 thread – Sunday, May 16 at Padres #161557This teams leadership needs to do the right thing and FA Carpenter! Enough is enough!
May 16, 2021 at 8:20 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 41 thread – Sunday, May 16 at Padres #161554I feel like the biggest issue we have that gets overlooked is the constant walks given up by our pitchers. We seem to constantly be in 2 and 0 counts especially our bullpen! We lead the league in walks! At least half out losses are due to this issue!
May 15, 2021 at 10:02 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 40 thread – Saturday, May 15 at Padres #161493Don’t worry guys! Matt Carpenter is coming in to save the day!
May 14, 2021 at 11:25 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 39 thread – Friday, May 14 at Padres #161368Think I’ll call it a night! Seen enough Carpenter at bats for one night!
May 14, 2021 at 11:09 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 39 thread – Friday, May 14 at Padres #161358But with all the negativity I still think we are gonna win this game! Padres have blown too many chances and we are gonna make them pay starting now!
May 14, 2021 at 11:01 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 39 thread – Friday, May 14 at Padres #161352It is just so silly to keep sending him out there! We could play anyone else and the results would be better! I just don’t get it!
May 14, 2021 at 10:54 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 39 thread – Friday, May 14 at Padres #161347This Carpenter stuff needs to stop NOW! He is no longer a big league player! Period! It is amazing to me that we have a 170 hitter go down and we replace him with a 120 hitter! It is hard to understand! The brass we have obviously has decided that Sosa can’t do it! It is weird to me. They may be right but let’s see! They don’t mind proving every night that Carpenter can’t do it! Enough is enough!
May 12, 2021 at 9:19 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 37 thread – Wednesday, May 12 at Brewers #161087How did Sosa get in the game? Did Dejong announce his retirement?
May 12, 2021 at 7:29 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 37 thread – Wednesday, May 12 at Brewers #161025The one positive about Dejong for me is I have an enlarged prostate and can usually make it from one his at bats to the next so he has become my break and don’t have to watch the predicted results! Lol!
May 12, 2021 at 7:20 pm in reply to: 2021 Cardinals MLB Game 37 thread – Wednesday, May 12 at Brewers #161022David I hope you are right about Dejong and 260! I just don’t see it though! If you look at his career it has been a steady decline with the batting average! He would almost have to hit 300 the rest of the year to get to 260 and I hope that happens, but right now all he does is hit a homer once a week and that’s about it! I just wonder how long they will go with him with a 180 average! I would hope of if we get 60 games in and he is still below 200 someone else is out there.
