Kind of a gamble for a player who has never played a MLB game. The Brewers must really trust their talent evaluators. Not only the skill level of the player but the mental makeup of the player. Will a 19 year old player stay motivated after receiving $80M?
January 24, 2024 at 6:26 am #242026Nice pick up for Milwaukee.
Source confirms: Free-agent first baseman Rhys Hoskins in agreement with Brewers on two-year, $34M contract with opt-out after first year. First: @JeffPassan.

January 24, 2024 at 9:47 am #242036Seems like an over pay.
January 24, 2024 at 2:21 pm #242042Depends on who is answering. Before the off-season, MLB Trade Rumors predicted Hoskins would get 2/$36MM. So MIL is paying $1MM less per year.
January 24, 2024 at 5:48 pm #242048The Central is in danger of beating the wild card out of each other.
February 1, 2024 at 7:27 pm #242315First Woodruff and now Burnes…
Corbin Burnes to the Orioles is done, sources tell ESPN. A blockbuster trade less than two weeks before spring training starts. Baltimore gets one of the best pitchers in baseball, and the Brewers will get a package of prospects back. First with it close: @Ken_Rosenthal.

Shortstop Joey Ortiz and left-hander D.L. Hall are going to the Milwaukee Brewers in the trade that will send Corbin Burnes to Baltimore, a source tells ESPN.

Along with Hall and Ortiz, the Brewers will receive a 2024 Competitive Balance Round A draft pick from the Orioles, per source. That’s the entire deal.

February 1, 2024 at 7:37 pm #242317Ortiz is ranked #63, one ahead of Tink Hence in the MLB Pipeline topp 100.
February 2, 2024 at 10:20 am #242337Seems a bit light on the return for Burnes, but then he will be in his walk year and the Crew needed to get something.
The NLC is going to be a sad division. I can see the Pirates taking a leap with Cruz coming back, and being the surprise division champ.
February 19, 2024 at 9:31 am #242854A reminder that he is likely out all of 2024.
Breaking: Brandon Woodruff back to Brewers. 2 year deal.

March 10, 2024 at 3:11 pm #243639Devin Williams has a sore back and is headed to get a second opinion from a spine specialist this week. It’s flared up this spring and while the Brewers aren’t overly concerned at this point they are going to be cautious with it.

July 24, 2024 at 12:02 pm #261482Christian Yelich could miss a significant amount of time with the latest back flare-up. Here's the story from Wrigley, with full comments from Yelich and Pat Murphy. https://t.co/Oyxc4Vy3YA

July 24, 2024 at 1:35 pm #261494The Brewers are indestructible. No Counsell, no Burnes, no Woodruff, no Williams no problem. They will probably cruise along without Yelich too.
July 24, 2024 at 3:38 pm #261504They do a great job of taking the average player and getting the maximum out of their ability! I wish we were as good at it as they are!
