And the Brewers down the Cubs 3-2 at Wrigley today. William Contreras an rbi double in the 9th plated the winning run. Redbirds now six games out.

And I agree…..the hitting is pitiful. And has been for a long, long time.

3 runs in 27 innings against the Pirates! It’s a miracle we didn’t get swept! We need hitters right away! They have played over 100 games already! I know many want pitching at the deadline but I think we need hitters! After our first three hitters you have almost nothing!

I don’t know where you think these bats are coming from. St.Louis has a lefty dominant lineup most nights. Which spells trouble when you have to face a lefty starter most nights. I agree they need a right bat with some pop that can likely play 1st and the corner of but if you’re expecting some blockbuster deal for an OF then be ready to be down in the dumps if and when it’s Miguel Andujar or Kevin Pillar type move.

I just realized we were given 9 walks today. How can you be given 9 walks and not score any runs?

We also had 6 hits to go with 9 walks. But I see we were 0-5 with RISP. What happened to all those runners? Did only 5 get past first base?

70% of starting pitchers are right handed. We don’t face left handed starting pitchers most nights.

Didn’t get to watch game but why did Gibson not pitch. It was his turn.

Gibson would have had to go on short rest today as he last pitched on the 20th, in Game 1 of the Saturday double-header in Atlanta. Blame the Friday rainout.

858 I won’t be down in the dumps! I’m fully aware we won’t get any real offense at the deadline! When is the last time that happened? Matt Holliday? There are plenty of hitters who would be better than what we have available! But we won’t do anything big! And we will continue to languish in the bottom 3rd of mlb in runs scored because this line up is not very good!

That may be the league number, 70% lefties, but everyone lines up their lefties vs us. Its the book this season. I would too. It’s better than challenging our lefty bats.

There is never no hope. Mo just needs to find a right handed Larry Walker. We got him at the deadline for a nondescript minor league reliever who we ended up picking back up anyway off waivers a couple years later. Get on it Mo. You’ve got 5 days.

In my dream trade deadline scenario we find someone willing to give us a top prospect for Goldschmidt and then acquire George Springer and Lane Thomas to play the corner outfield spots!

Or a RH’ed Will the Thrill…Maybe Johnny can pull another Cedeno out of a hat.
