Is there a less productive 5 hole hitter in baseball than Dejong? I seriously doubt it! How long can we keep putting him in the 5 hole? It is terrible for the whole line up but makes it way worse for Arenado? I just wonder how long he gets a pass? He is hitting 180! Pitiful!
Williams must go to the bench! Watching him play it Is obvious he is not ready for the major leagues!

I hope you are right and I’m wrong! I think there is still hope but major changes will have to be made! If this team makes the playoffs there lineup will look nothing like the one we are currently seeing!I don’t see how this team can win over the long run! As constructed right now the Reds and Brewers are both better teams! I just think out front office has done such a poor job of evaluating talent that we are left with a number of players who are not major leaguers on a major league roster, kinda like the Pirates! I don’t know the answer but I am certain that continuing to play Carpenter isn’t it! We must get more production out on someone in the outfield! If we play these same guys all year this is gonna be one long year IMO! I’ve seen some really bad Cardinals teams and have a gut feeling this is gonna be a long year!
I don’t think I would ever put a line up out there with Carpenter in the starting line up at this point! I feel sad for him when he comes up!
Anybody ever been to a little league game and see a dominant pitcher go through a line up! You can tell the pitcher can do anything he wants and the hitters have no shot! That is what Carpenter and Dejong looked like just now! No hope! Dejong three straight fastballs totally in the box and he can’t even foul one off!
In 2013 I thought Carlos was gonna be the next Pedro! Of all the players we have that achieved below expectations I still consider him number one! A total bust IMO and why we continue to start him I’ll never know! If we are gonna demote Thomas for a terrible game maybe we should cut Martinez after tonight and bring up Oviedo to start! He couldn’t do any worse!
Do we have anyone else who can play SS? I really feel like continuing to play Dejong at this point is doing him more harm than good! He looks awful and you can see the lack of confidence! He needs at least a few days off! Why is Sosa not being used at all?
Out 4 and 5 hitters on tonight’s game are now 5 for 51 on the season! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry!
For what it’s worth:
I have a ton of faith that Goldschmidt will be fine in the long run and
Zero Faith that O’Neill, Bader, Williams, ever will! I starting to doubt Carlson also but have. Or given up hope on him! The other three are never gonna be any good!
The truth is the front office has done a terrible job evaluating talent! We are fans and can debate for fun but they are being paid thousands of not millions to evaluate young cardinal talent and they suck at it! If we had Arozarena and Pham in the corner outfield spots instead of the pitiful choices we have now we would be in way better shape! We need big league help NOW in the batters box before it gets truly ugly! I have no faith in our front office to pick and choose which young players have a bright future! They have proven they don’t know!
