gscottar perfectly said! Trading our valuable hitters Burleson Herrera and Donovan would make me think we aren’t even trying to win this decade! And trading them so we can see more of Walker and Gorman! Good Grief!
Jnevel perhaps the reason they don’t do it is because it’s not smart business? I read somewhere where only 5% of the prospects traded at the deadline actually make a big contribution at the mlb level! I just hate to see us trade Burleson, who at worst is a serviceable mlb player for someone who might one day do something! Usually they don’t! We have traded 3 players tbis decade who have gone on to win LCS MVP, 2 in the same year we traded them! I am sure there are reasons we did that but I hate it!
Goldschmidt wasn’t a prospect! The question was when was the last time the Cardinals traded for a prospect who became a star, and the answer may very well be Willie McGee in the 1980’s! So if that is true why would anyone want to trade Burleson for any prospect knowing the history of the current FO! Again these kind of things are the reason we are where we are today!
I guess we should go ahead and trade Donovan and Herrera too! Some playoff contender will want them also! Then we will get 3 prospects in return who we can overhype and overrate like Gorman and Walker and be even worse than we are already! How anyone can really believe that this current FO can be trusted to trade for a prospect that can really play is beyond me! What is that trust based on? When is the last time we traded for a prospect who became a star? I truly can’t remember?
How does Gorman fit our roster better than Burleson? IMO trading our best bat and continuing to see what Gorman can do seems silly! We know what Gorman does, next to nothing!
For a team that complains about not having enough money we have used 30 million extending Wainwright and Mikolas the last two years! Those kind of decisions are wby we are where we are!
Mikolas out early again to throw some BP! This is ridiculous! He would not be starting for any other mlb team! Good Grief!
Rats I think most if not all were severely over hyped and over rated by the organization! They had people believing these guys could really play and they couldn’t! Sadly the ones that really could play, like Arozarena and Gallen were traded away! This organization needs major changes to succeed and I don’t think we are gonna get many anytime soon!

858, think you missed the memo! We aren’t getting anything for Fedde or Mikolas! I think it’s much more likely Arenado or Contreras agree to trade to go to a contender than it is we get anything for Fedde! I guess we will see in a couple of weeks!
Seems like we are figuring out ways to lose! At least we will be above 500 at the break! I would sell anyone who might get us a top 20 prospect! Maybe Arenado, Contreras, Helsley for sure! I would keep Gray unless we got a sweet deal for him! Gorman might draw a decent prospect! We need to cut bait and start over! This team is going nowhere without major changes! I’ve given up trying to figure out how to do them! So has out FO!
Sending King in to put out a Fedde fire is the definition of adding fuel to the flame! Fedde Mikolas King all need to go ASAP! We have better options! Pathetic!
Pozo has definitely earned more at bats as has Saggese! Hopefully someone besides the fans are watching!
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that McGreevey gives us a better shot than Mikolas or Fedde! The only people in the whole dang world who don’t see it happen to be housed in our FO! As Charlie Brown would say, Good Geief!
I tuned into Apple to watch the game and it must be delayed! They were just showing Mikolas throwing BP to the Cubs!
My guess is we have never gone on the road against a last place team and lost 3 straight all by shut out! A cardinals first!
I would love to trade Fedde at the deadline to make room for McGreevey, but we will get next to nothing for him! I’d still do it but no mlb contender will trade a top 30 prospect for him imo!

I said a couple of weeks ago that we had three 300 hitters in our lineup and we would sink or swim on what they do! Since then Herrera is hurt and the other two have collapsed, so we can’t score! Over 1/3 of our games since June 1 we have scored 2 runs are less! Rats is onto something! lol!
Since June 1 we have scored two runs are less 10 times and are 1-9 in those games! Over a third of the time we play we score 2 runs or less! That won’t cut it, period!
I think Rats is onto something! Yes some nights we do alright but when we are bad we are just awful! We have to lead mlb in being shut out since June 1! Over and over we can produce nothing! Getting swept by the Pirates would be terrible but not scoring against them would be worse! Tbis is pitiful!
Forsch, thanks! About what I expected but a little better! There are very few teams in mlb that can boast 3 300 hitters in their lineup! I think we are tied to those 3 for offense! When they don’t produce we will always struggle to score! If tbey all end up over 300 I think we all will be very pleased with our record at the end of the year!
Great game to be at! I found in interesting that our three best hitters Donovan, Herrera, and Burleson really showed out tonight! I’m guessing our team average without those guys is well under 230! Was thinking maybe we should bat the big 3 in order! 2, 3rd and 4th or 3, 4 and five! They could cause real problems IMO!
