It’s about time the Cardinals took a player from Tennessee. The school is a talent pipeline to the professional ranks with the best coach in college ball. There is already three or four guys from the last three teams that are in the majors.
Doyle is the real deal. He is mowing down batters in the best college conference in the nation, the SEC. His strikeout numbers are incredible.

It is sad that Wainwright did not go out in an extended and celebrated farewell with Yadi and Albert last year. He has been a great Cardinal. The trio retiring together would have been very special.

There are no experts. Most of them are offering click bait, throwing scenarios against the wall and hoping that something sticks.
The Phillies are a perfect example of why the regular season is just a preliminary and doesn’t mean that much as long as you squeeze into the playoffs. Get hot in October, have two strong starters, a couple of reliable relievers and have one or two bats get hot and, well, we see now what can happen.

I thought the Cards needed more runs the entire second half of the game. The Pujols double play ball with no body out hurt, big time. Almost time to start talking about off season acquisitions.
No way should DeJug be on the post season roster. Need another bat, not a dead out, striking out most of the time.
BTW assuming the Phillies will be the opponent is a stretch right now. They are in Houston to finish the season.Waino has had a great career. Perhaps it might be time for him to ride off with Yadi and Albert when the season ends. Hanging on for one more year just doesn’t make alot of sense.
