I appreciate Walker’s enthusiasm on the basepath, but this is the bigs. Maybe take it easy for a while.

    Nice RBI hit, though.

I’ve really seen enough of Gorman for a while. Him and DeJong are like two peas in a pod.

Has Arenado always done that little Texas two-step before his throw? Or am I just noticing it?

Not usually, I think it means the guy was getting a better grip on the ball.

A Goldy one out rbi base hit puts the Cards in the lead for the first time in London…..and now Stroman suddenly has blister issues……might more be the case of a blister to his ego……and he’s exiting with Fulmer entering.

What do you know. Now we have the lead and we got rid of Stroman.

Sac fly from Noot, the basics

Noot with a sac fly RBI. That sort of thing destroys his avg exit velo and launch angle. It will be on a spread sheet. If it gets out of hand, there are some wonks in Louisiana who can fix it.

Our pitching staff hasn’t given up any earned runs so far.

With 2 out and a runner straddling 1st here in the cub 5th, Woody gets the hook and Hicks is trotting on in. Very nice job by Woody today!

BB, the spread sheet/wonks thing has really gotten old. If that brings you enjoyment, good for you. I leave it with you.

(cough cough)…..check that just a minor “Hick”up on my part…… it’s Genesis (properly pronounced “Hen-a-sis”) “Cabby” Cabrera and not Hicks entering this ballgame.

Although I never imagined the ’23 edition would be quite this bad, if someone would have told me last winter that Paul DeJong would be the starting Cardinal SS on June 25th, I would have first laughed, and then told them that if that indeed turned out to be the case, the Cardinals would be in the midst of some serious trouble.

Glad you’re back, TD…….was getting worried there for a bit.

I would like 2 insurance runs here in……oh my it’s only the 5th……how about 3-4 insurance runs?

Would have been nice for Gorman to have traded places with Contreras and I’m not going to fault him for the effort, but I don’t like trying to stretch that RBI base hit with no one out.

For sure, TD. We get just one……7-4 Good Guys heading to the 6th.

Does anyone else here ever get tired of watching DeJug strikeout and walk off with that same dumb, blank look on his face?

jj, I have long felt the same way about the neverending and relentless analytics spew. I figure its a two way street.

Yeah, sorry to sound mean, but DeJong features the cock-eyed dumb look quite often. The Redbird manager displays the precise same look all the time.

Thankfully we’re getting the good Genesis today. He’s THIS close to putting it all together to be something truly special coming out of the pen. Let’s hope he gets there.

Yeah, Cabrerra’s feast or famine. I think it was in ’21 that he had an extended stretch in which he was really effective, but you just never know about him since then.

He sure is, TD. In my basement I have a huge color photo of Genesis right in back of my pool table covering half the wall……and right down the way from there I also have a dartboard with Genesis’ likeness front and center.

Gallegos on to pitch the 7th. I think I would have trotted Genesis out there to start the 7th and then take it from there, as Genesis looked like absolute money out there.

Haha!…Those love/hate relationships can be an emotional roller coaster, Pugs.
