Hudson is starting today vs former Cardinal property Cy Young Alcantara.

If we win this one, we could run the table.

What do you mean by ‘run the table’?

Does the table refer to this series?

It is just one of my go to phrases expressing over the top and irrational optimism based upon a small sample skewed by chance. Like if we can beat Cy Young with the pitching we’re shoveling out there today, we may never lose again. But hey, it could happen. 🙂

The Cardinals are a bit more than a month away from entering the run the table stage of the season. You can fully expect them to be shootin’ sevens and drawing to aces for the entire month of September…”I’ll tell you that!”

Yeah if we trade for Christy Mathewson, Tom Seaver and Warren Spahn, plus Johnny Bench and Ted Williams. That oughtta do it.

Haha!…Yeah, Bench and Teddy would be a nice R-L platoon option for the whiz-kid…”I’ll tell you that!”

It would at least make some sense to start Carlson vs lefties, so I am not surprised to see him in OlliMo’s lineup today.

Goldschmidt’s certainly not the fastest sprinter on this team, but in my view, he’s by far the best baserunner. Reminds me of both Scott Rolen and Larry Walker on the base paths.

Hey I’m still eating my desert and it’s 4-0 already. I don’t want to miss all the fun.

Holy geez Pyle! Four runs in the 1st inning to take a 4-0 and they lose.

Just when it looked like they might be coming around.

    This one is a killer.

I guess Gorman should sit down and anybody should be playing.

Seems like a lot of balls get just by a diving DeJong. Not sure if he can’t get the glove in the right spot, he plays too deep, or it is just one of those things where they are just out of reach and would be that way for anyone.

DeJong missed a diver last night too Mike.Hes pretty tall so he should be able to stretch out. If you move in you cover more angle but you got to be far enough back to make it in time to the ball. Seems like Edman plays SS farther back but hes not as tall.

Scared em that time. Carlson couldn’t hit it after he bounced it off his toe. Thats gotta hurt! Shoulda ran on home on DeJongs hit to right side.Shake things up!

Yeah Wooster, I thought that DeJong GB to Gurriel scored Herrera. I was waiting for them to add the 5th run to the graphic on my TV screen…Haha! He must have hesitated over there at 3B. Probably should have taken off as soon as the baseball left the bat.

Yeah 1TD the Miami announcers said the 1st baseman looked him back. Only 1 out I’d send him all the way. They 50-50 mighta got him at the plate but with everybody moving good chance for an overthrow. Sometimes you gotta press to creat a run. Why I loved whitey ball! Yeah thats the way to do it!
