Pretty sure they are going to have to go get an Outfielder by the trade deadline, Bader wasn’t exactly tearing it up this spring, I think the jury is still out on everyone else, be interesting to see how O’Neil does starting out as a regular in the lineup, think it is important he get off to a good start.
Was looking at what who could possibly be available in the summer, came up w/ a few names, sure there will be more
Marte…Marlins
Gallo…Rangers
Peralta…dbacks
Polanco…Pirates
Merrifield…Royals
Upton….AngelsFebruary 20, 2021 at 10:57 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #154658I’m not so sure the Rays could draw if you transported Camden yards to Tampa, Florida is a bad market for baseball
February 9, 2021 at 7:13 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2021-2023 #153887Not sure there is a lot left in the Free Agent OF market, could possibly see Reddick or a Brett Gardner as a NRI….Jackie Bradley is going to get decent $ coming off pretty good #’s last year.
I could see them giving O’Neil the first couple of months and if he isn’t getting it done making a trade.
Cade Horton still available….May be a tough sign now
Like a 17 year old athlete is not going to get bigger and stronger
August 1, 2019 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #100486Not sure where to put this; but there appears to be a real lack of a will to win in the Cardinals front office/organization; it seems like they have just decided to concede the division to the cubs the last 3 or 4 years b/c they have more star players and St. Louis just hopes for the wildcard….I have seen no passion, sense of urgency or just a want to beat the hell out of the cubs from the front office and it seems to trickle down to the players and coaches.
This trade deadline will hopefully cause something to change, b/c I don’t think they anticipated the anger of the fans by there lack of aggression by doing nothing, just don’t see how the current Front Office leaders can recover from this blunder and have any credibility moving forward, especially if this team starts to lose games and there 1 game lead turns into 5 games back.
I think the biggest concern was the comments Eduardo Perez made on ESPN about the feeling in the clubhouse that the Front Office let the players down by their inaction, that could be a real problem going forward
Dodgers are calling up their top pitching prospect from AAA, while cardinals continue to trot out Webb and Mayers
July 31, 2019 at 9:47 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #1003316 runs in last 33 innings, and couldn’t hit a lick in May and June and some of the worst corner outfielders in baseball….but there were no deals out there….seriously
July 31, 2019 at 6:52 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #100253A good under the radar trade was the Twins picking up Dyson from the giants for there bullpen, was hoping the cardinals might look at him w/ Gant looking a little tired
One thing I would certainly do is DFA Mayer’s and see what Junior Fernandez could bring to the table
July 31, 2019 at 4:59 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #100206Hopefully if they don’t make the playoffs they all will be fired at the end of the year…..the Gyorko trade makes zero since. Plus you can’t tell me an additional bat wouldn’t have helped a team that’s scored 6 runs in the last 3 games and struggled to score most of the season.
July 31, 2019 at 3:03 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #100145I’m starting to wonder just how much payroll the cardinals can add, ownership seems pretty skint
July 31, 2019 at 1:57 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #100122well thats not going to happen with an hour left
the only possible starters left that would be of much help are …Ray, Minor, Boyd and maybe wheeler it sounds like
What a wonder a few days off does for Martinez….he was lights out tonight

July 28, 2019 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #99678The Kay guy has been awful since his promotion to AAA near 7 ERA in 7 starts
Top like that may be available
Greinke
Romero
Syndergaard
Bumgarner (doubtful they trade him now)Next in line that might be
Minor
S. Gray
Boyd
Duffy
Ray
Wheeler
VargasGreinke and Duffy are owed a lot of $, so they may not take as much in terms of top prospects if team takes on the remaining salary…Greinke no trade clause could probably mean more $ spent to get him to waive if StL is on it.
July 26, 2019 at 3:35 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #99352Under the Radar LHRP — Francisco Liriano….wouldn’t think they would have to give up a lot for him
Think they also need to get rid of some guys on the 40 man, and add Junior Fernandez and Azorena to the big league club
Still think they need a bat (not sure Ozuna will be enough when/if healthy)
Another top starter would be great but not sure they have enough to make the trade unless they add Gorman or Carlson which they shouldn’t do
Giants have won 16 of last 19, not sure how they can be sellers unless they fall off this last week
the starters are killing the bullpen b/c they haven’t made it past the 4th inning the last 2 games
28 strikeouts for cardinal hitters in last 2 games
The starting pitchers are going to kill the bullpen, flaherty can’t get to the 5th yesterday and it will be a miracle if PDL can tonight….that’s a real problem on back to back days
Leone has been nothing short of awful this year
Moronta is the reliever I would look at on the giants
Did I hear right that bader was 1-14 with a runner at 3rd and less than 2 outs…was 1/2 listening so may have missed it (would be 1-15 now I guess)
