No clue why Munoz doesn’t start more….hitting 355 in the last 30 games, he is no worse than o’neal And Martinez in the outfield who are both butchers out there
J Martinez is a 4th or 5th outfielder/pinch hitter/DH who has been pressed into to much playing time b/c of injuries and non-production from other players.
The last 30 games hitting stats are truly horrific
Some low lights:
Bader is hitting .138 with 17 SO’s in 58 AB’s 1 RBI
Goldschmidt hitting .190 with 28 SO’s in 84 AB’s 10 RBI
Carpenter is hitting .204 with 17 SO’s in 54 AB’s 6 RBI
DeJong is hitting .228 with 21 SO’s in 92 AB’s 8 RBIbest hitters in that 30 game period are:
Fowler is hitting. .269 15 SO’s in 67 AB’s 16RBI
Wong is hitting .265 with 8 SO’s in 68 AB’s 7 RBI
Munoz is hitting .355 with 3 SO’s in 31 AB’s 5 RBI
Edman is hitting .278 with 10 SO’s in 54 AB’s 9 RBI
Martinez is hitting 267 With 16 SO’s in 75 AB’s 8 RBI1 run in last 16 innings….offense is a joke
Gotta chance to go to today’s game; never seen a more inept offense, outside of some hard outs in the 8th was just a bunch of nothing.
Team needs to add at least 2 new offensive players w/ some energy and get Ozuna back if they are even trying to win the division if they can’t do that they should just go in total rebuild mode. There is just no way that lineup/offense is going anywhere against good pitching let alone average pitching like today.
I would be encouraged with flaherty’s Start except the Giants didn’t exactly have an all star lineup but it’s the best he has looked in a while for sure.
If you ever get a chance to go to a game in SF you should go, it’s a great park and friendly fans.
3 runs scored in the last 30 innings….that’s hard to do
I will be shocked if there are not some organizational moves made tomorrow
Cardinals seem to be on a collision course with last place in the division by the end of this road trip against poor to average teams
9 games under .500 since May 1, cardinals have 40 losses, in 20 of those games they lost they have scored 2 runs or fewer
The most baffling thing they have done this year to me is extending Carpenter….he wasn’t hitting when they did it and except for a 6 week stretch last year he hasn’t done much of anything the past 2 seasons….it’s almost like they were bidding against themselves, and yet somehow he keeps hitting leadoff w/ the exception of tonight’s game, where Edman has 2 hits.
Same song second verse…inept offense, front office twiddling there thumbs
In the 35 games the Cardinals have lost this year they are hitting .205 in those games and averaging 2.63 runs per game in those 35 losses
Not so sure this offense is turning those #’s around w/o some changes
this team needs a leadoff hitter in a desperate way….Carpenter is a human roadblock up there
This team is brutal to watch
There lineup is really a mess, if you just look at batting averages and runs produced from 1-8 it may be one of the 2 weakest lineups in baseball…I would think to turn that around they will need at least two new bats to add to the lineup, and one has to be a leadoff hitter, b/c it is painfully obvious Carpenter cannot be the leadoff man hitting in the .220’s,
Cardinals #6, 7, and 8 hitter are 1 for there last 31…the 1 was a single by Molina on Sunday
Bader while good defensively looks like he is not going to be able to hit enough to be a regular starter especially in this lineup
June 17, 2019 at 11:16 am in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #94729heck I would try to swing a deal for the outfielder the Yankees sent down after getting Encarnacion, Clint Frazier, hitting .283 w/ 11HR’s and 34 RBI’s in 53 games…..w/ stats like that he would be our best hitter
3 hits against a rookie making his first start who is their #17 prospect, how they keep letting Carpenter leadoff is beyond me
Like the pick, lefthander P definitely a need, injury history is a slight concern, seems to have a fiery attitude as well and 2 plus pitches
I think you can put a fork in this season, literally amazing considering the division isn’t that great but starting pitching is not even close to what you need and the offense is a joke.
May 1, 2019 at 9:51 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2019-2020 #89528Wonder if the nationals would be willing to trade scherzer if they keep sliding out of contention, he also would have 3 years or so left on his contract. Though they may turn it when they get some players back
December 11, 2018 at 10:03 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2017-2018 #77090Sounds like dodgers are trying to get rid of some outfielders to get Harper …. Bellinger has been mentioned in trade talks
Buster Olney: The Dodgers have talked to other teams about moving two outfielders among the group of Matt Kemp, Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson and Cody Bellinger. As they look to reshape payroll, they also are prepared to move starting pitchers Rich Hill and Alex Wood.
MO should be arrested for robbery after this trade, you get a dynamic bat that was desperately needed who is also a gold glove defender at first….you give up Weaver who really regressed last year and you have other arms coming up, Kelly is about to be passed up in the organization by Knizer and is blocked by Molina and a prospect who could be good down the line.
Even if you get one year it’s still a great trade b/c Goldschmidt only makes $14 mill, so you should be able to add another bat and a reliever hopefully
July 26, 2018 at 8:26 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2017-2018 #62303Id rather they do nothing than acquire an old player with cole Hamels #’s….he has been awful this year
July 26, 2018 at 8:16 pm in reply to: Trade Ideas/Acquisition Ideas/Non-Cards Rumors – 2017-2018 #62299They need to get a dynamic bat/player/prospect or 2 in the lineup, not sure who that is or if attainable for next year…I caught the middle 2 games in San Francisco recently and this is the worst offense I can remember the Cardinals having since I have been following them.
I think this also taxes the bullpen (especially when MM was the manager) but they also need to stop with these older relievers like Holland and gregerson who have a lot of miles (of course Norris is the counter to that but he was at least cheap).
The bullpen next year will have to be totally blown up with Hicks I assume as the closer, but there is not a lot after that outside of maybe Gant (assuming Norris is not back)
Right now this team is not close to contending for the World Serie
I just don’t see how you can have 3 guys in the starting lineup hitting under 200
