Burleson is said to be so slow that he won’t ever be able to play a corner OF position. A pure first baseman who’s ceiling is projected to be 15 home runs a season.
I’m a fan of the Dodgers draft so far. I have to assume for the Cards that they’ve talked to these HS guys and they are sign able. They all have something going for them. Overall, looks like they are trying to replenish the entry levels. I guess we’ll see.

Ian Bedell was one of the top relief pitchers in college baseball as a sophomore. 1.56 ERA in 40 innings pitched. He got a chance to start in the Cape Cod league last summer, and was selected as the Pitcher of the Year. Over Mlodzinski. In 6 starts he had a ridiculous 0.56 ERA. He had 36 Ks and 3 walks. He loves being a starter and was slated to be Mizzou’s Friday night ace this season. Let’s keep him in Missouri- on the Eastern side of the state.

I am familiar with Tink Hence as he is a U of Arkansas signee. He is by far the best high school player in the state this year. Normally an in state kid would stick with their commit to play college ball here but since his slot could be worth $1 million I think the Cardinals have a pretty good chance to sign him.
Padres played it well for Wilcox. Drafted a few guys who would sign under spot so they could get him later
They were really hot on walker (apparently a ton of teams were)
People in the industry like the cards class a lot. Have a buddy who’s with the draft team doing it live
Says Winn could’ve gone first and hink is very projectable
Also says Burelson is great value
Surprised we didn’t target more arms
Also, every team knows every pick is singable in this five round draft. Deals in place before they’ll draft them
