Just great, oh boy, another Apple TV game.

I am so sick and tired of these Apple, Peacock, Amazon, Roku games. Maybe I will run for MLB Commissioner!

If it helps even just a wee little bit, Peoria is beating the Cubs high A team 21-2 in the bottom of the 8th.

With our offense struggling we need to get Pozo in there at catcher. He catches Mikolas at times so hopefully he is in the lineup.

I am heading out to the reservoir here in a little while to do some paddle boarding, and will have Rooney and Horton dialed up while out on the water. Almost an idyllic setting – being out on the water on a gorgeous afternoon listening to a Cardinal/Cub game.

Now if we get clocked, well I might just capsize! 🙂

I can’t place my finger on exactly why, but it seems odd to not have a game the day before Independence Day. In our area of StL. Co. there are all sorts of events that are getting underway this evening such as carnivals, neighborhood festivals and other fun summer activities to lead into the fun holiday weekend so it’s my personal view that a Redbird baseball game seems in order. I also see that 20 of the Big League teams are involved in game action today, so why not make it 22? At any rate, I hope everyone has a fun 4th of July and be sure to be careful while handling and igniting all of those high explosives…Haha!

The Cubs appear to be starting Colin Rea tomorrow. With him and Mikolas on the hill on a 90° day there could be early fireworks. Now watch it be 2-0.

The Cubs beat Cleveland tonight (Thursday) 1-0 in 10 innings at Wrigley Field.

That means their bats will be on fire tomorrow. And with Mikolas throwing batting practice this one could get ugly in a hurry.

Fortunately I will be out mowing since it’s an Apple TV game.

Regardless of my paid subscription, I see I’m not going to view any Cardinal baseball on TV again. Fifth time this year I’ve been denied a game through no fault of my own, and it makes it worse since it’s a Cards-Cubs 4th of July game too, nothing like throwing a little gas on the fire to make fan annoyance a little more special.
It looks like the Cubs’ Marquis Sports network got the same treatment as Fan Duel, as it would normally be available to me with the sports package I purchased, so there’ll be plenty of Chicago people harping about this. Some day, it’s very likely I’ll get over all this stuff and move on, but you have to react to the injustices when you see them or nothing will ever get done.

So, as a true baseball fan would do, the vintage 1977 Kenwood tuner and Phase Linear power amp and pre-amp and other associated stereo equipment clear back from my college days at Illinois State will be tuning in KMOX today while I do some pinball fixing in the shop.
    Hello again John and Ricky!

I am now sitting down to a steak burger fresh off the grill topped with american cheese, tomoato, ketchup, and mustard. On the side we have ruffles chips, french onion dip, potato salad, and a tall glass of cold diet mountain dew. Probably snag a chocolate brownie later tonight.

I do have Apple TV although we don’t use it much. I will try to get my money’s worth today. Happy 4th and let’s beat these Cubbies.

I tuned into Apple to watch the game and it must be delayed! They were just showing Mikolas throwing BP to the Cubs!

Mikolas is defintiely throwing BP Steve. This could get ugly real quick.

Won’t happen but I would be in favor of a DFA for Mikolas.

By the end of this weekend the Cardinals will have played the Cubs 7 times in the last two weeks and none of those games will have included Sonny Gray. I find that to be poor planning.

Mikolas has now given up 4 homeruns in less than two innings. What is the record for homers given up?

According to Google the record for most HR given up in a game is 6.

My son lives less than 2 miles from our house and is set up for Apple TV and all sorts of other streaming, but I’m not even going to bother getting into the truck and riding over there to watch. It’s not worth the effort. If these greedy so and so’s want to prevent loyal Redbird and Cubbie fans from watching a 4th of July day game matchup between these two storied franchises take place at Wrigley Field, well, I say let them have their way. I also say that I genuinely hope that they choke on the extra dollar that they snatch from these types of blackouts. I really do.

I’d have to guess that the 6 HR record has to be a record for taters allowed by a a single pitcher in an appearance. If not, 6 HR’s seems awfully low to be the record for an entire game.
