O’Brien gets lucky to get a strike 3 on a ball that looked a touch low. Otherwise it would have been bases loaded.

Let’s score at least a run so Helsley has some room.

    Helsley looking like trash.

Oli tossed on a 3-2 count. Lol

Yep, Helsley is going to blow another one.

But my money is on him to get out of this jam.

    You wait and see!

Seems like we aren’t the only ones who don’t want to watch Helsley pitch anymore! Oli said no thanks and got tossed instead!

Helsley look like last year the last 3 batters and the Cards win.

I’ve seen multiple social media posts that the Cardinals “desperately” needed this win. I don’t understand that. It is always preferable to win, but they still lost the home series to a team that came into the day 10 games below .500. I am missing the major significance.

This is about the same as some posters on here saying “this is a must win” in late April.

What I take from this teams performance before the ASB is that it’s inconsistent. They’ve won some series against good teams and then you see what they do against Pittsburgh x2, Atlanta, Angels and you feel a tad empty. Pretty much tells you about the level of talent we’ve got in this reset and what Oli and co. has been given to work with.

Just checked the score. With the rain delays I thought it was going to be a washout and got caught up in other things. They do better when I ignore them. 🙂

Yeah, me too, Euro. And they always seem to win on the day after I get Brandon Belt mixed up with Travis Ishikawa…Haha! I should drink more coffee…

Ha, if they ever make it to game 7 of the world series, just remember the day before that how Brandon Belt sent Wacha and the Cards home for the winter.

I gave up and went to bed during the rain delay. It was comforting to see them persist and win in the end. Baring some spectacular moves in the coming days (Yeah Right!) this season is as done as a Christmas turkey. Abandon all hope ye steadfast Cardinal fans. Just sit back and take what joy you can in the remaining 65 games for a post season there will not be.
