Forsch, thanks! About what I expected but a little better! There are very few teams in mlb that can boast 3 300 hitters in their lineup! I think we are tied to those 3 for offense! When they don’t produce we will always struggle to score! If tbey all end up over 300 I think we all will be very pleased with our record at the end of the year!
If the objective is to win regular season games this year, then they have no choice but to shoehorn all the bats into the lineup with no regard for other factors. Obviously, outfielders who can hit would be better.
As I mentioned in a different thread I’m not sure how you get more AB’s for Gorman. It would have to come at the expense of Donovan, Burly, or Herrera, who happen to be our three best hitters. That doesn’t make sense. Or if you move Donovan to LF it weakens our defense. That doesn’t make sense. And he isn’t playing over Arenado for a variety of reasons. It sounds like someone will need to get traded. Maybe it should be Gorman traded for a young pitcher.
