As I said in a post a couple of months ago, Mo will sign 2 or 3 bottom of the rotation guys and that will be it! This is the first of the three! We still clearly need a number 1 and 2 and will most likely get neither!
I agree with BW on Carlson! 1400 plate appearances and getting worse every year! Continuing to put him out there every day and expect something different or better from him becomes another PDJ situation IMO!
Bling I love your roster! With that pitching staff we would be ready for a WS run! Card25 yours is great also! A little more realistic IMO! If we get anything close to Blings starting 5 I’ll being doing cartwheels even at my age! Lol!

Jnevel, you are probably more an expert than I am! I just watch and hope! But, it seems like we have spread a lot of talent around baseball lately and I guess my thing is, if we would have kept the ones we let get away and let go of some of the ones we hang onto we would be a lot better off right now.
Sure every team loses some good ones and make mistakes but this current FO has made so many mistakes lately that we are currently the worst team in the worst division in baseball!
It seems like some still want to defend Mo and Ollie and the others but I just don’t see it! As we drop further and further into the pit I think they will become less and less defensible!
Jnevel, at first I was gonna say I would take Thomas over O’Neill or Carlson right now and then it dawned on me because of something you said! I bet either O’Neill or.Carlson goes on to become a success after they leave the Cardinals! So the question becomes, why does this keep happening and why aren’t people losing their jobs because it keeps happening! We are NOT developing the players we have to their fullest potential and they go somewhere else, develop and produce!
It is so obvious it’s ridiculous! We NEED new leadership that can help develop these talented kids and make them stars for us instead of someone else!So according to the original poster we had 5 outfielders at Memphis in 2019 competing for playing time!

And our organization chose to keep the first 2 over the bottom three and that ain’t good! If we would have kept the bottom three over the top two we would be celebrating Mo but alas it didn’t happen! I am convinced we are gonna do the same thing with Baker and Gomez we did with Thomas Arozarena and Garcia! I predict Baker or Gomez will be an All star and there will be people on here that will justify it, but my gosh, how many quality players are we gonna lose before heads start to roll?When is the last time the Cardinals traded for or signed a top notch pitcher? Seems like forever, and now they are gonna do 3 in one year! Not buying it at all!
Nathan, totally agree! Those expecting Nola, Gray and Montas are gonna be sadly disappointed! More like Quintana, Freeland and a third bottom feeder! And yea Bling we could win (82-80) with that group but not much else! I’m getting old! I don’t wanna wait any longer! Do something BIG or step aside and let someone else have a try!
Bling, I hope it’s 1, but realize it will probably be 3! My guess is they will get a couple of middle of the road starters and try and convince us they are way better, but the results on the field will be about the same! Hope I’m wrong though!
I think Wainwright’s and Flaherty’s problems had way more to do with themselves than Contreras! They both stunk and it was nobodies fault than there’s! The fact that any pro pitcher would go and tell on the catcher so he could take the blame for at least some of their failure is really hard to believe! This explains why we are in the shape we are in!
We are stuck with 70 to in seasons and 5th place finishes until Mo and Olli are gone! I’m assuming after another season close to or worse than this one they will both be fired!
This team is pitiful! When we used to play the Redsv I always thought of them as a rag tag AAA team! Now that is us! So sad we fallen this far and that all those resposible for this fall will be back in their positions next year like this didn’t happen!
Flaherty with another terrible start tonight! We didn’t get much for him but at least we got of him and his potential salary! God knows what we would have paid him to be mediocre or worse! Just look at the 37 million we have spent on Wainwroght and Mikolas! SMH!

Sooner, great post! I too fear a long time at the bottom! I do not believe we will contend again with either Marmol or Mo as part of this organization! The numbers don’t lie! One bad decision after another has crippled this franchise and we need change! I glanced the other day at how the first round draft picks or doing so far this year and while many like Jackson Holiday are professing through the minors as hoped our #1 is floundering at the lowest levels! This doesn’t mean he won’t be a player at some point but given what we have seen lately it does leave a bad feeling!

Nola would provide a few more wins but the rest would not make up a quality starting 5
If they come out with that starting 5 in 2024 Mo might make it through this off season but won’t make it through the next!The lack of effort is disgusting! They don’t even try! Ya know the Nationals are bad but I have been watching the. This week play Miami and they compete every game! It has to be the manager! Martinez is very respected and gets his team ready to play! This is so pitiful and I don’t look for any real change until Olli and Mo are gone! Next year is gonna look a lot like this with those 2 still around imo!
Thompson has a much better chance of being a solid 4 or 5 than Liberatore IMO! Matthew has had enough chances! We should move on!
Pitiful! The Mets have no chance to make playoffs either but at least they have the character to play hard! Even the A’s make more effort than our guys! This is just disgusting!

1td I remember laughing about it last year making jokes like PDJ will probably start all year and here we are! They will keep him and he will play all year at ss for us! And next year to! It’s really just unbelievable! IMO the first day we get serious about winning again he will not be here!
