Liberace’s line 4.1 IP, 5 ER, 10 H, 3 BB, K, 92 pitches. That is vs the worst team in MLB.

Was out riding the bike listening to the KMOX broadcast. Libby let quite a few guys off the hook when he was ahead in the count.

Rick Horton said Libby did not have a good breaking pitch tonight, and that really hampered him. He needs that off speed breaking ball to compliment the fast ball.

Heard the Walker error while riding as well – sounded like a real clunker. Not a good showing at all.

Got to keep running Libby out there though. Need to get the big league reps and go through the rough times in order to hone his skills.

Who had getting-thrown-out-at-home-with-one-out-and-down-7-to-0-by-the-slowest-runner-in-MLB on their list of accomplishments this team would nail by the end of the year?

I can imagine Baker rounded 3rd like a dump truck on the highway.

    8-0 Oakland the final.

Even if it is the worst team in baseball it is often hard to sweep someone.

All eyes on Wainwright tomorrow night. Might it possibly be his last appearance on the mound at Busch?

Outscored by one of the worst teams in recent history 15-13 for the series, but won 2 of 3. That is kind of typical of bad teams as they often seem to lose the close games and will get an occasional big score win.

Our club has done a lot of that this year.

I heard that the latest adjustment Waino is doing was to skip his bullpen session this time. I guess Father Time catches up to you to where the stamina is just not there to follow the routine you had as a young buck.

Hey, a lot of us can relate to that. 😀

Surely Mo will realize that he has no AAA pitching he can count on for next year. Surely.

    Mikolas is a good solid #3 / #4

Matz will be up and down and end up hurt.

Ain’t nobody else good enough – at least not to count on for next season.

Maybe Johnny Mo better get 4 starters instead of only three?

A new low tonight imo! Trounced by the worst team in baseball! 70 wins seems unlikely at this point! Terrible, and if we start Liberatore, Hudson and Matz next year we will be worse! Mo’s gotta go!

What was the attendance in this one? Looked to be somewhat sparse.

Even if we were going good, I wouldn’t make the effort and spend the money to see Oakland play.

Liberatore: “It’ll take some time to break bad habits.”

Good grief. A major league rotation is not the place for that. Nor is August the time for that.

You said it Bling..! If you are not MLB ready, you should not be in MLB.. send Libby back to aaa and let him work on his stuff.. He obviously has things to figure out, before we start pitching him in games that actually count..losing, crappy season or not; Lets not get into bad habits of pitching guys in MLB in hopes they get better.
I would actually like to see Woody again with some starts or being the long relief guy… his last outings before the IL had been very good..(London). vs a resurgent Cubs team, not the team with the worst record in MLB.

The alternative to Libby is no better. This is what rebuilding teams do. They sell off FA’s-to-be and invest playing time in young players. Welcome to the rebuild.

I guess Liberace is better than Lavatory but still. Maybe we should stick with Libby.

IMO, how Woodford did before he was hurt isn’t as important as what is happening now. He gave up three runs in three rehab innings at Double-A. Maybe he will be back soon, anyway, since the pen is weakened now.

Helsley’s results were slightly better with two runs yielded in three Double-A innings.

Getting knocked around at AA isn’t good but also can’t read too much into it either.
