I see it’s 12-1 Mets now. I quit after the Vogelbach grand slam. Me and Whitey Herdog turned it over to watch the end of the Toronto and Cincinnati game. Toronto won 4-3. Reds had 2nd and 3rd with one out in the last of the 9th but a strikeout and a ground out ended the game.
Miami leads the Doyers 1-0 in the 3rd.
The Mets have figured out all they have to do to get Winn out is not throw him any fastballs. Not in the zone at least.
Redbirds threaten to score in the 9th but a Burly strikeout on a outside ball in the dirt and a Knizer sky high pop up finish it off. Got to play better tomorrow- don’t think it could get much worse.
Pitiful! The Mets have no chance to make playoffs either but at least they have the character to play hard! Even the A’s make more effort than our guys! This is just disgusting!
They’ve already used up Contreras, so I’m waiting for them to start pointing in the direction of injuries.
They packed it in a long time ago, Steve. I said back in June that this guy doesn’t possess the leadership abilities required to demand the respect of the players on this or any other Big League roster. I genuinely believe that the majority of players on this team not only don’t respect him, but also don’t want to play for the current Cardinal manager. Most of them probably have less respect for him than I do.
The only thing this Cardinal team needs is better pitching, better offense and a tighter defense. Otherwise we’re in fine shape.
