I hold nothing against Wainwright. I just thought Marmol was directing his statement at the focus not being on winning. The weeded out part probably is about someone like O’Neill, you may be right.

We are stuck with 70 to in seasons and 5th place finishes until Mo and Olli are gone! I’m assuming after another season close to or worse than this one they will both be fired!

As for Marmol’s comments, they may not have been appropriate but I suspect they were Mo approved. Ollie is not going to risk getting Shilt’ed.

I’ve wondered about this too, but don’t think as much as you seem to think that the comments were Mo-approved. It wouldn’t be shocking to me that Oli would fly off the handle a bit and make a stupid comment. Mo seems too calculating to make such a statement that seems to have no upside going the public route vs the in-house route and it does seem to have some downside, specifically making Mo’s winter tasks more challenging. You never know, because they both seem arrogant and weaselly to me, Oli the short-fused one and Mo the deliberate and smug one.

I have seen speculation that Arenado rubbed some the wrong way in that regard. He fought through physical issues a lot, but once it became clear he could not reach personal goals as to RBIs, or whatever, he packed it in. Maybe justified, not saying it isn’t, but a bad look.

Whoever speculated that is full of manure. Did you read it on Fansided by chance? 😉

What are his supposed “personal goals”? You cited RBI as a potential example. Well, he was only seven RBI short of 100 when he went on the IL.

Sticking with the facts, Arenado missed Games 154-162. That is the final nine games of the season for those who are math challenged. Do I need to list how many other Cardinals went on the IL before that? Arenado played every day until the end. Are you suggesting he stopped trying before then?

To me, what is a bad look is insinuating Cardinals players are “packing it in” with nothing but hearsay to back it up. But, hey, it is not necessarily my opinion. I heard someone else say it. I am just repeating it…

Last week, it was Goldy. Now it is Arenado. I wonder who is next to be accused?

My view: Goldy, Arenado and Mikolas are not going to be “weeded out”.

I can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a sacred cow. Maybe Marmol has O’Neill derangement syndrome and keeps saying rash things because he’s triggered. Is that better?

You answered your own question. Maybe you should stop swinging dead cats.

Are there any game threads for the post-season, BW, or does the game of Big League baseball end at 20 under?

Hicks just got out of a bases loaded jam in the 8th. 3-1 Twinkies

I’m taking a look at AZ at MIL. One run game in the home half of the 4th, 4-3 AZ.
