Yeah, but we have three #4’s and a #5
I would say the way Matz pitched for most of last year he is a 6 or a 7.

Going into the 9th with just one hit! The offense has the day off I guess.
Given the offense scored 3 runs in 27 innings this weekend, I think they took the whole weekend off. Just bad.
Hitting has been an issue outside a couple guys for several years. Just a bad bad baseball team right now.
PNC looks like a nice place to watch a baseball game, but the first thing that comes to mind when I see the playing field and stands of that venue is how Albert Pujols simply looked like he intended to demolish that ballpark every time the Cardinals played there. I don’t think they could have contained him if the Pennsylvania Governor had mobilized that state’s national guard.
Haven’t watch a game there, but walked around the stadium last November and it has some neat features. Heck of a view of downtown too.
This pitching staff is just bad. For all those years we were told about all the young pitching studs in the system and Wainwright is the only one that ended up panning out. The rest either didn’t pan out of couldn’t stay healthy.
This year can’t end soon enough.
Appears it’s bad bullpen day today.
This is just a really bad team. Wow. It is creating ways to lose. SMDH
Amazing how much Yadi meant to this team.
Wish I had faith in the front office to do the right thing.Ouch, very ugly night.
Scott has hit the nail on the head repeatedly here. Ollie may not be a good manager, but until until fans stop showing up for the product the ownership and front office keep putting out there, nothing changes. No big splash free agent signings to fill needs. Instead we will continue to be treated to winning just enough to be competitive with the hopes of catching lightning in a bottle in post season. MO has given the fans a wash rinse and repeat for many years now.
October 8, 2022 at 10:55 pm in reply to: 2022 Wild Card Series Game 2 thread – Saturday, October 8 vs. Phillies #203981Typical Cardinal year, win enough to get in and then fade in the 1st round. Come on management, spend the money to make this a contender.
We need two top of the line arms and another consistent bat. This team is just good enough to win the crappy NL Central.

October 7, 2022 at 4:05 pm in reply to: 2022 Wild Card Series Game 1 thread – Friday, October 7 vs. Phillies #20368433 pitches and only 15 strikes. Not good.
October 7, 2022 at 4:04 pm in reply to: 2022 Wild Card Series Game 1 thread – Friday, October 7 vs. Phillies #203682Good lordy this has gotten ugly quick. Sad thing is the backend of the bullpen was extended today. If the Phillies end up winning this we are in a real pickle.
