I don’t think there’s any question that Gorman can hit LHP’ing. He absolutely annihilated that pitch from Smyly.
Arenado coming around from first to score kind of looked like that was enough with the running. Sometimes it sucks to not be 25.
Mikolas is sort of like late career Waino in that he gives up lots of hits but generally keeps teams off the board. In this game, he’s not keeping the scoreboard clean either.

Bellinger got a bad strike called on him, so he had to swing at an unhittable pitch with two strikes on him, same as Burly yesterday. But he fouled it off, then came back with the RBI base hit. That’s how its done.

Why we are giving Fermin starts at 2B (yesterday), with Gorman sitting vs lefties, is total idiocy. It’s the perfect season to let Gorman bat vs both. Make the investment.

I still don’t understand why we decided to go with only 12 pitchers. It’s like we just try to lose sometimes.
Zack Thompson (2 H, 2 BB, 3 ER) & Drew VerHagen (1 H, 2 Ks) got the first 'pen calls & JoJo Romero was warming up when the rain hit.
With only 12 pitchers, everyone in the bullpen has to be trusted to pitch & get outs. The choices were limited for the coaching staff.
