1:15 p.m.
RHP Dakota Hudson (6-5, 4.29) vs. RHP Zack Wheeler (7-4, 2.66)
BSM // KMOX // WIJR
Also BSSO and BSSW+July 8, 2022 at 11:22 pm #190548I wonder if we will score any runs in this one? What on earth has happened to our offense?
July 8, 2022 at 11:43 pm #190551Facing better teams, thus facing better Pitching. Mediocrity wins fair against the weak and struggles mightily with the better. This team is mediocre. Can’t blame injuries. Look to those that decide the makeup of the team.

stlcard25ParticipantI’ve been out in the wilderness fishing since July 1. Seems like I missed the worst stretch of the season so far, so no big loss. Hopefully the offense will re-find its groove and the pitching doesn’t fall apart.

cardsfan64Participantstlcard25, hope you had a good time out fishing! Hey, maybe it’s your fault that the Cards have not been playing well since you weren’t watching them! We’ll blame you! Ha!
July 9, 2022 at 11:26 am #190580Darned Cardinals aren’t thinking out of the box… 😉

ParticipantI see no upside to Dickerson over chapel. I guess we are paying Dickerson more so I guess that’s how it goes

ParticipantI think our record vs quality teams speaks for itself. We are just average in lots of ways. Sure we are better than the basement teams which is why we are above water at this point. while hitting seems the biggest issue for many, I still see our pitching as weak. Waino finally had a good game yesterday albeit in a loss but may put a spark in him. Mikolas I believe will be fine. After that I don’t know if we have it. Would be nice if ownership would get us a top line starter but they may be waiting to see how the team goes going further
July 9, 2022 at 12:12 pm #190588Dickerson
Nootbaar
Sosa
KniznerThat’s a pretty week bottom half of the order. I don’t expect us to score much again today. Especially if that is Bob Gibson pitching for Philadelphia.
Din-din today will be a New York Strip steak in the air fryer along with some onions and brown gravy, some noodles with some beef and brown gravy, a Mt. Dew, and a piece of chocolate cream pie from the Amish restaurant. Then a Palma Real 7×50 Presidente cigar whilst me and Whitey Herdog watch the game from the couch.

July 9, 2022 at 12:22 pm #190592#STLCards utility IF/OF Brendan Donovan is not with the team because of an illness. He’s played every game since May 21. Oliver Marmol said he’s been looking for ways to rest Donovan. He’ll be tested for COVID. Marmol is concerned about being w/o one of his most versatile pieces

July 9, 2022 at 12:23 pm #190593#STLCards LHP T.J. McFarland will make another rehab appearance today in Memphis, while RHP Drew VerHagen will pitch multiple innings in Class-A Peoria tomorrow.

July 9, 2022 at 12:23 pm #190594#STLCards manager Oliver Marmol revealed that CF Harrison Bader’s heel pain from plantar fasciitis is still a major issue. The manager said it’s a distinct possibility the Gold Glove CF might not play again until after the MLB All-Star Game. There are still concerns of a setback.

July 9, 2022 at 12:36 pm #190597Five words can adequately describe last night’s loss…….we got bombed by Bohm. Looks like both me and Stlcard25 missed over a week’s worth of heartbreak due to fishing. I just returned late last night from a whirlwind fishing trip to beautiful Nova Scotia. I fished both inland and outland in search of fish. I felt like a crew member of the Andrea Gail on my first day at sea, with the waves crashing into us…..if you’ve never experienced sea sickness, consider yourself lucky. And thanks to all who sent emails in my absentia. Instead of replying individually, I think I’ll kill 18 birds with one lone shot right here at The Cardinal Nation. Next time I will definitely make note of my travel plans right here, prior to my departure. And for you Birdhouse/Cardinal Nation old timers, you’ll never guess who I heard from. The esteemed DizzyDean17! And finally, there is no mystery whatsoever as to who wins today’s ballgame. St. Louis triumphs and triumphs convincingly this afternoon.
July 9, 2022 at 12:40 pm #190598Welcome back Pugs and stl25. I think this board really really missed your valued insights and composure this past week.
July 9, 2022 at 12:45 pm #190600ZipWHOPer now at 8. Gorman and Yepez lead off? Desperation what about Sosa- teach hum how to bunt. Carlson best shot behind Nado. Dickerson needs to come out of obscurity today. Knizner dead in the water hitting.
“Its not Hot!” today and it won’t be.
We always have a chance if we don’t give up 5 runs by the 3rd inning.
Din-din will be some kind of meat!
Go Cardinals!July 9, 2022 at 12:50 pm #190602Maybe we will get lucky.
July 9, 2022 at 12:56 pm #190603Hey Pugs is back! Glad stl25 and Pugs went fishing! What did you guys catch? No lying allowed!
July 9, 2022 at 1:05 pm #190604Doppler Radar shows all clear in and around the St. Louis area. This one should be good to go at first pitch at 2:15 at Sportsman’s Park.
July 9, 2022 at 1:22 pm #190605Carlson another nice running catch. The kid can play.
July 9, 2022 at 1:48 pm #190608Glad Stlcard25 and Pugs went fishing! What did you guys catch? No lying allowed!
Thanks Wooster & Scotty……thank you very much. Hey stlcard25……Wooster can read us like a book can’t he. I caught a bunch of trout upon the first two days of my arrival. But when the action shifted to the open sea, I went down with the Titanic, Wooster. I was so seasick that all I could think of was getting back to shore. Some people are born to work and play out on our oceans……but I’m not one of them. I did start feeling a bit better after a few hours out there, but by that time the only thing I was interested in was my bottle of Wild Turkey. By the time we arrived back to the docks, one of the deckhands literally had to escort me off…..which I remember little of. But all in all, in was a fantastic time. Go Birds!
Would love to watch today’s game, but have a million things to catch up on. Besides, today’s game is a no doubter…..we win it handily.

Well that is rude.

LOL, not personal. Just business. Fan business, all in the spirit of helping the Cards. I noticed a strong correlation with your number of posts to the number of Cardinal IL issues.

ParticipantWell so far, close game. Nootbar gets a two out double. Maybe Sosa can come through
