I rode a Daytona around the world back in the day!
I last had a bike 40 years ago, was a Norton. It was awesome when it was running. Gave it up when I got married.
The rest of the Division is opening a gap between them and us. The Pirates are 5 back in 4th place and we are 9 back in 5th. Its like being a lap down in a nascar race. It is tantalizing to win a few, but all it does is get us on the same lap for a while, still way back and still eating dust. Then they go by us again and we’re back to a lap down.

I’m still in second grade at computer school.Neat seeing former fellow drivers such as myself. While Cardinal In France was a Daytona man and Rat a Triumph, I owned a Harley back in the day for only about 2 years before I struck a tree, fortunately only sustaining a few facial stitches and a broken left arm.
This France fellow frightens me and this game tonight is so darn pivotal. Such a difficult game to predict. To bet on this particular game would be totally foolish. But I’m going with my heart and calling this one 5-3 Birds with Tommy Edman finding the cheap seats with bat in hand.
We need to somehow get Wainwright to 200 wins so he can retire – well, get an ‘injury’ for the balance of the season and ride off into the sunset.
He really should have gone out last year with Molina.
We can dumpster dive for a guy to start for the rest of the year and have an ERA a run less. That won’t be good but it will be less painful than watching Wainwright struggle.
Age related issues accumulate over time. In Wainwright’s case he was doing ok last year and suddenly went off a cliff late in the season. He is still over the cliff this season and it is even worse. That kind of seems more like a specific physical problem more than just age catching up to him. I wonder if the mystery mechanics problem that all the coaches standing right there didn’t see was just a smoke screen. If so, then it will not get better and will keep getting worse.
Pugs, I am NOT a Triumph guy. Never had one. I have had three Harley-Davidson’s over the years. And if I ever decide to get another, which I doubt, I suspect it might be a Triumph.
And let me make a suggestion here. Since the Redbirds are so worthless this year instead of game threads why don’t we just have Din-Din threads instead? They might be more entertaining.

Wainwright’s case is a common one. Most anyone who’s fortunate enough to have grown long in the tooth is aware that when the reflexes and stamina of youth disappear, they disappear almost overnight. I vividly recall playing a session of catch with my son right about the time I turned 50. Less than six months prior to that time, I was perfectly fine and could still get out there with him and pretend I could still glove and sling the baseball. Not this time. I was immediately saddled with the overwhelming sensation that I could very possibly be hurt. You know, the type of hurt that would require a trip to the emergency room or multiple visits to a dental surgeon. I simply no longer possessed enough faith in my reflexes or hand to eye skills to be confident that I wouldn’t be conked on the coconut or smacked in the mug by a hardball that was being rocketed in my direction at jaw level by a strong and healthy 27 year old man…I had to tell him to dial it down a little bit and that’s not at all an ego booster. It’s more what I’d term a moment of truth…Haha! When it goes, it goes in a hurry.
As bad as that game was last night you’d think it would stand out, but those types of endings have been countless this season and I’ve grown accustomed to them. I also noticed that the box score claimed a little over 41,000 in attendance to see the commonplace collapse. I counted 21,392…
Marmol and Blake certainly aren’t LaRussa and Duncan but they were still given a crap sandwich pitching staff by the front office.
Pitching problems abound for STL. After coughing up a 7-5 lead on Wed, the #STLCards have lost 25 games in which they held a lead. Only the #Royals (29) #As (26) have more such losses.
Only the #Rockies (6.51) & #Reds (5.91) have worse starter ERAs than STL (4.85) in the NL.

Yeah, I agree that this entire staff is an inferior one, but it’s basically the same as last season.
Sorry Rat…. thought I had read somewhere that you were a diehard Triumph owner. You know, the more I think about tonight’s game the more bullish I become. So much so that just the sight of anything red gets me all amped up. Even on the way home tonight when I was the lead dog coming up to a red traffic light, I carefully checked to make sure no cars we crossing as I approached the red light and when there were no cars, I just rammed right on through the rascals. I say we let bygones be bygones in regards to last night’s debacle and get ready to cheer our boys on to victory this evening. And as an added bonus, take a wild guess who’s going to be riding high and wild in the PBP saddle this evening? I see we’ve had nary a din-din report thus far, so I’ll break the ice. On my way home I picked up some bone-in chicken wings with no sauce (ranch on the side) from Red Robbin and then I swung through the drive thru at Popeyes and grabbed 3 apple cinnamon pies.

A well played game would be nice. Including passable pitching. No baserunning blunders. Good defense.
I just looked up Altuve’s game logs from his debut season in 2011 in which he was called up on July 20th of that year. He had two 3 hit games against the Cardinals in a 4 game series of which were only the 5th through 8th games of his Big League career. After looking at those logs on BR, I recall watching those games and thinking to myself, “This little guy looks pretty good.”…Haha!
