After a leadoff Hall single, Philly raps into a 4-6-3 twin killing of their own. Now Babe Bohm strides towards the dish…..and he cues a base hit past the 2nd baseman Gorman and out into right field for a hit. And now Stott straifs a base hit to right almost exactly in the identical fashion that Babe Bohm hit his. And now Vierling pokes a grounder up the middle that will plate Philadelphia’s second run of the game, with Stott strutting safely into 3rd base. Now it’s our old pal, Yairo Munoz coming to bat. Vierling promptly swiped 2nd base. Munoz on 3-2 strikes out swinging…..a big time “WHEW”!

For those that don’t have a subscription, I just noticed the Cards game is the free MLB.tv game for today.

We all love “free”, Euro…… especially the “free love” that existed in the 60’s…..that unfortunately, your’s truly was much too young to enjoy. Sanchez sets the Cards down in order in the 4th…..still 2-1 Bad Guys.

Schwarber crushes his 28th dinger to dead center field to open the Philadelphia 5th…..3-1 now. It’s high time for the Cardinals to man-up, as even with the injuries, they have much too much power to be hitting the ball with such little authority.

I was pre-teen then too, Pugs. The jury is still out on that reliever you didn’t know.

Juerys Familia, Euro……maybe someone here has the lowdown on him? Yeah, we both just missed out on the 60’s fun, Euro…..maybe we get em in the 2030’s????

I relish Jimmy Edmonds insights into the game. I know some here don’t like him, but I sure do.

Our left field ballboy looks a titch pudgy, as he trudges out into the field of play to retrieve an errant foul ball. I know the times are now different, but could we please bring back the lovely female ball girls?

Pallante exits with 2 out in the Philadelphia 6th. Finished with 100 pitches. Runner at 1st base. Pitching change:

Cards are in dire need of a W. I don’t care if it’s Sunday or not what’s up with this second choice line up?

    Here here, ZTR!

    Oviedo your new Cardinal pitcher.

Oviedo gets Vierling looking for strike 3 to retire the side……and the kid didn’t like the call…..tough cookies, kid! It was in the zone by the way. Still 3-1 Philly.

Albert homers to left-center field with one out to slice the deficit to a mere run. And of course, it was off a southpaw (Sanchez).

Schwarber robs Nooty of a base hit, with a diving catch in left.

Wasn’t it me who was saying Albert is still the greatest?

6 runs in the last 53 innings is some kind of special ugly. Hopefully Albert’s HR lights a spark with others.

It sure was you, Bling. You and Rat have been in Albert’s corner since Day 1 of his return to St. Louis. Kudos to you both!

With 2 out in the Philadelphia 7th, Hoskins with the epitome of some check-swing good fortune, as the ball skips on by 1st base and off the right field sidewall for a double. Castellanos then with an infield single and Oviedo does not deserve the trouble he’s presently experiencing. A grounder to Albert at 1st base gets him and the Cardinals out of the inning without any harm inflicted.

Philly is out hitting us 11-4 thus far, but fortunately we’re only down by one on the most important column on the scoreboard.

Romaine leads off the Cardinal 7th by nearly decapitating the Philly pitcher, Sanchez….. it’s a base hit…..a base hit that will chase Sanchez right on out of this game.

Bellatti now center stage for the Phils.

Edman whacks a double to right with Romaine stopping at 3rd……and gang, I now actually believe that Yadi is no longer the slowest runner on this team.

Man, you wish Albert would have drilled that long ball with the sacks full. And now Romine a shot to center for a single, would have been nice when he was up with the sacks drunk.

    Here is the struggling Edman.

Alcantara with another 7 innings of shut out ball. Man, that deal is starting to take on a Carlton-esque look to it.

Jeez, if Romine could run at all we would have tied it as Edman breaks out with a double into the corner.

Romine is a dump truck on the base path. Too bad we aren’t tied up.

Edman gets one right in his wheelhouse and doubles. He’s been struggling but he’s not gonna miss that. I could see the hit me sign on it before he hit it.

Well romine fast enough to scoot home on that grounder. Game tied up.

This pitcher seems like the easiest pitcher we have faced in a while. Not seeing great stuff.
