Going into today, the Cardinals as a team had the second fewest number of strikeouts and had the 7th best batting average in the major leagues. They were 11th in runs scored.
Because when they score they score in bunches. They were discussing this during the first game today.
Team is all or nothing when it comes to denting the plate. As has been the case the last few years, just no consistency.
And you get Bader swing out on about as bad a pitch as could be thrown. Half of the outs were strikeouts, no ball in play, no pressure to make a play or move a runner. BLAH
Man DeJong sure seemed like he had it figured out in the spring. Glad he was shipped out and hope it fixes what is wrong.
4 years for Matz. Ugh…… He should have never gotten more than two years. The guy is a number four starter at best.

Just watching replay as was working during game. How Lopez can buzz a guys head and stay in game and the Cardinals lose two guys. Lopez is a d-bag and should have watched the end of the game in the shower.
Are the bad contracts that Mozeliak got us into still hamstringing getting top free agent? There are definite needs that need to be addressed.

Reyes so solid for the first 2/3 of the season. Now he just needs innings in the middle of the game with no pressure to get his mojo back. He is awful right now.
How do we have so many guys pitching at the major league level that have no clue how to throw strikes? Does Maddux get paid to fix these kind of things?
When the Cards don’t make the playoffs, they need look no further than the last two series with the Pirates and the series with the Tigers. Just awful baseball against two of the worst teams in baseball.
80% of the pitching rotation was injured for most of the season and that killed the bullpen.
When was the last time we didn’t lose more starters to the DL than not?

Agree, understand wanting to stay out of the double play but man, that is a head scratcher with DeOUT coming up next.
