I agree Helsley has not been elite this year. His almost 1.50 WHIP is worse than all five of our starters.
In my opinion they should be sellers. They have already established that this is a reset year so expectations were low. And you still might get hot and make the playoffs anyway like the Tigers (who were sellers at the deadline) last season.
Watching the game on Apple TV they kept showing Fedde in the dugout while the Cardinals batted in the 8th and 9th. I’ve never seen a player so amped up and nervous at the same time. You could tell he wanted the complete game bad. Announcer stated it was his first complete game as a professional.
Mets tried to give the Cardinals an out but they didn’t take advantage of it. RBI single on the next pitch. 4-2 now
According to the earlier broadcast, Chase Petty will be making the start for Cincy with Abbott pitching tomorrow. Won’t have to face Hunter Green this series.
Leahy is dominant in the 7th. It makes no sense that you don’t trot him back out for the 8th. The whiz-kid was whizzing I guess.
My prediction on Marmol is that if the Cards fall so far back that attendance is even worse than expected he will be canned in an attempt to get a few more butts in the seats. They will name an interim manager and announce Bloom will get to hire the next manager.
At the beginning of the telecast the announcers stated that Matz was on a pitch count of about 60 pitches. They let him throw 71 so he could complete 5 innings and qualify for the win.

Yes I know it is spring training but Sonny Gray was awful today. Had to be relieved in the second third and fourth innings. Had no command of any of his pitches.
On another note, during the broadcast they stated that the Marlins have a pitching machine that uses AI to replicate opponents starting pitchers. Said all of the Marlins hitters used it this morning while it replicated Sonny Gray. I wonder if we have this system?
Hopefully it is precautionary but Jordan Walker removed from his game due to knee pain.

Have one game on the TV and the other on my phone.
Trying to watch game on FanDuel Network app. All was good until bottom of 1st inning. Then the screen went black followed by a “We are having technical difficulties” message. Now there has been about 10 minutes of continuous commercials. Not a good start to the 7 day free trial period.
Video returned just in time for final out of inning but poor audio and only one camera angle.
Audio and video back to normal about half way through top of second inning.Looks like I will have 2 options for streaming Cardinals games this season. I can either sign up directly to FanDuel Sports Network and get the FanDuel Southwest Teams (Cardinals, Royals, and Okla. Thunder) or I can sign up for the FanDuel Network through Amazon Prime Video and get the same teams. Both options are the same price $19.99/month or $189.99/year. Both also have a 7 day free trial period.
Going to chose one of them Sunday morning and start the free trial so I can watch 2 pre-season games (23rd and 25th)and if everything works will sign up.Just seems to me if the Cardinals are wanting to maximize their revenue from the direct-to-consumer streaming option they would be putting a lot more information out about it. Maybe they are waiting until closer to Spring Training before making a marketing push.
Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I’m still confused by the direction to consumer streaming option they talked about in November.
If I go to the FanDuel Sports website it says I am in the FanDuel Southwest region. (I’m in central Oklahoma) The 2 MLB teams listed for broadcast are the Cardinals and Royals. However, in fine print below that it states that territorial market blackouts still apply. Unless something has changed, Oklahoma is in the Cardinals blackout region.

Cardinals second pick (3rd Rd) in the ‘24 draft. I had the opportunity to watch him pitch multiple times for Oklahoma State University. He is under-sized (5’ 11”) but is a strike thrower. Very good K/BB ratio. Hasn’t made his professional debut so purely speculation as to his potential.
