If you’d have said, Matz 2-0, 1.80, I’d have been highly skeptical

According to the earlier broadcast, Chase Petty will be making the start for Cincy with Abbott pitching tomorrow. Won’t have to face Hunter Green this series.

Taking a gander at the weather situation for tonight’s nightcap.

According to the Doppler Radar all is clear in the Cincinnati area. Tonight’s encounter at Crosley Field should be played with no delays.

Dodger fans and media are in a state of mass hysteria as a result of Tommy Edman being held out of the lineup for the second consecutive game…All reports indicate his absense is merely to give the Dodger superstar a well deserved rest before the team plays 10 straight games without an off day. I guess everyone out there in la-la land was in a state of panic concerning the thought of a possible injury to Little Eddie. I’d have to guess that Dodger fans now know that the team isn’t going anywhere this season without the face of the franchise being healthy and ready to pick up the slack for Ohtani, Betts and Freeman…

Here’s another good one…Dodger nation has declared Edman to be, “The Steal of the Century”…Another article contains the headline, “How the Dodgers Fleeced the Cardinals”…Haha! Johnny’s looking real bad on this one.

It was a royal fleecing, TD. And most of us here knew it(especially the esteemed GameCard) right when the trade was consummated. It wasn’t exactly on par with the heist our Redbirds pulled off against our arch rivals about 60 years ago, but it still was a terribly lopsided transaction.

A sweep would be fantastic, but if I was a betting man, I would put the odds at about 1-125 of us pulling off the sweep tonight. I hope I’m wrong, but when it comes to baseball and football,
I seldom am. Go Birds! We love you guys no matter what your record is.

Despite being a couple of games better than even, a glance at the GAB grandstands looks like their attendance is a little worse than that of the Cardinals this season.

I can’t think of a better manner in which to get a winning streak underway than with a DH sweep of a division rival that leads us in the NLC standings.

Contreras continues the home run barrage today with a 3 run shot in the top of the first.

Whoa…Contreras with the 3 run TATER! It’s about time he got untracked.

Gorman looks like he’s back to trying to pull every pitch no matter the location.

There you are Matz. Go to work and protect this 3 run lead like it was your firstborn.

It took 11 pitches to find the one Pedro liked.

Cardinals Baseball is good fun. Can’t wait to put this last era in the rearview and start on a new regime. There were LOTS of good times!

7-0 Birds in the 3rd and looking for more. Cincy having great difficulties scoring a single run in their own park today……Mikey likey!

I see my 2023 pre-season Bold Prediction of Matz winning World Series MVP is finally starting to take shape. I knew he had it in him. It was just a matter of time.

I like the wording, Pugs. Johnny did get consummated.

Finally able to tune in consistently although I did see the 5 run inning. Graceffo in here earlier than I expected. I would just tell Graceffo you have the rest of the game. Don’t blow a 9 run lead.

Man, got the bats going today. Still Walker looked bad on that last AB. Swings at a pitch almost in the dirt, then watches strike three right down the middle.

Din-din? Spaghetti, tossed salad, sliced ciabatta bread with olive oil & vinegar. Washed it down with water as we do not have any wine in the house right now, and I was not in the mood for a cerveza. Usually a cold, frosty one during Cardinal games is a no-brainer, but just wasn’t feeling it this evening.
