Would guess somewhere b/w $15 and $20 a month hopefully the games on Amazon will be 4K…would cough up $20 a month for that
The Rays and Tigers also came to a 2025 agreement with Diamond. That only leaves the Royals in limbo. The Braves withdrew their objection to Diamond’s plans with the next bankruptcy hearing today.
This info from The Athletic provides more info on the amended Cardinals deal, which covers multiple years:
“If Diamond successfully emerges from bankruptcy, the conversation for baseball moves more long-term: what’s in the amended deals? Are they all timed to potentially expire around 2028, when MLB’s national TV contracts are up? The Cardinals’ contract is set up that way. Commissioner Rob Manfred has an ambition of putting together a national streaming package.
“The Cardinals newly granted in-market streaming rights to Diamond, as did the Angels. Diamond already had those rights for the Marlins, Rays and Tigers. That means those teams can be watched via a standalone subscription Diamond will sell via its own platform and also through Amazon Prime (but at additional cost on top of Prime’s standard fee).”

What about what just happened with the Reds?
Will I still be able to get the Reds games on Bally Sports Ohio?
I always like to watch the first few innings of the Reds games before I switch over to the St. Louis game. And watch their late games out west.

No, Rats. First of all, Bally is gone, replaced by FanDuel. For 2025, they dumped the Reds, which will instead have a new network run by MLB. It will be called Reds TV. It may look different, but the games will still be available on your cable system.

So, that means I will still be able to get the Reds on my DirecTV subscription except it will be FanDuel Ohio or something like that.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I’m still confused by the direction to consumer streaming option they talked about in November.
If I go to the FanDuel Sports website it says I am in the FanDuel Southwest region. (I’m in central Oklahoma) The 2 MLB teams listed for broadcast are the Cardinals and Royals. However, in fine print below that it states that territorial market blackouts still apply. Unless something has changed, Oklahoma is in the Cardinals blackout region.
I’m starting to worry I still won’t be able to stream Cardinal games this year.osuagec, you should be able to get the FanDuel app and watch Cardinals games next season. For reference, here is the Cardinals schedule for Oklahoma via Bally Sports Southwest in 2024. I don’t know enough about the app to know how many channels they have and how they are labeled.

I am interested in convenient and affordable access to a good quality product. I could endure a poor product if access is convenient and affordable. I have a Roku device and we get a couple streaming services that my wife watches some stuff on. Plus we have the local broadcast stations. I figure if there will be one service I can subscribe to, or one app to buy, or whatever, and get all the Cardinals games, then I will consider it. If they are going to sell off the rights to some games to other services, Apple TV or Peacock, this or that or whatever, so that I won’t be able to see all the games anyway, then forget it. If I have to figure out which channel or service the game is on every day, then forget it. So I am assuming I will be forgetting it again this year.
Amen…I’m all done jumping through any hoops that these greedy so and so’s are thinking about setting me up for. They can keep what they’re selling until it rots on the shelf.
Just seems to me if the Cardinals are wanting to maximize their revenue from the direct-to-consumer streaming option they would be putting a lot more information out about it. Maybe they are waiting until closer to Spring Training before making a marketing push.
The Cardinals don’t control the direct to consumer app. Bally/FanDuel does and they’ve been pretty busy trying to emerge from bankruptcy and renegotiating most of their team contracts. I imagine they will get around to providing more details before too long.
I hope I can just buy the Cardinals games but KNOW I am buying and can watch all of them and not get cut out of Apple games and maybe some others.
Extra Innings was ok when you could actually see all the games but that changed a few years ago. I never used it to watch other teams games so I won’t miss that at all.
If Apple or Peacock or any other streaming services get national games, they will be exclusive. In other words, there is not going to be one package that you can buy that will have all 162 games, unless the Apples and Peacocks skip over the Cardinals all season long. But even so, last year, BSM had over 150 games. That is pretty good coverage.

Pretty good isn’t good enough if an Albert’s 700th moment happens. If they need that extra slug of money bad enough to leave their regular customers in the dark, they are not getting mine.
Boy, if that ain’t the truth. Loyal Cardinal fans follow the greatest RH’ed hitter in the history of the franchise and, in my view, the history of baseball, for his entire career only to be denied the courtesy of watching live as he ripped HR #’s 699 and 700 at Dodger Stadium. That was the ultimate insult. These guys would kick their own grandma in her chops for an extra buck or two. They showed their backsides on that night.
Well just saw jim edmonds has been dropped from fan duel or whatever its called as a cardinal announcer. Just another reason to not care about watching the games anymore. Had already went down to a cheaper package and didnt have access last year. So now no reason to bump back up this year. I know some didnt like him but hes my kind of announcer. He gives you real kind of inside information that only a player knows and feels and knows his stuff far as explaing it to the listener.
I liked Jim as well. He wasn’t afraid to call it as he saw it and that got him in trouble. They prefer Brad Thompson who is more of a everything is going great kind of a guy.

Brad Thompson = Toxic positivity. He needs to grow a pair and at least level SOME criticism at times.
As someone who got tired of Edmonds because of how much he loved talking about himself, which was a lot, I also don’t like Brad because he looks at the team with rose colored glasses.
Yeah, although Jimmy was my favorite Cardinal CF’er, he was a primary reason for the genuine need of a mute button.
