Any information on when Walker will be back playing?

It appears Mikolas had a good start against the Mets starters. Uh oh!!

Only 2 weeks until the home opener. After 3 games against the arch rival Twins, the regular season will amp up the high drama with 3 more edge of your seat battles against the hated Angels…

Roby was optioned to Springfield after the game. I have been impressed by him this spring though and am crossing my fingers he can stay healthy.

Yeah, Bikemike, anytime you have the sort of intense bitterness present in a Cards/Twins or Cards/Angels matchup, there’s a good chance to see something along the lines of Marichal/Roseboro…

    BTW,
    FWIW,

Goldschmidt has three homeruns already this spring.

It would be our luck if he put up .290/30/100 this year for the Yankees.

    If he does, he does.

Sometimes change is an agent for improvement.

Even Carpenter had a year like that after he left StL.

It would be nice to get one of those for ourselves though that would require signing a player…..

I like this lineup, for the most part. If Walker and Siani can prove consistent at the plate. Then again, this is a “reset” year with the same old faces.

this is a “reset” year with the same old faces.

At least its starting off that way. Hopefully we will see some new faces as we go along. Koperniak, Church . . . Not impact guys but newer pieces we haven’t been losing with.

I wonder if Wetherholt will progress enough to possibly make Winn expendable as a good trade chip for Bloom next winter. I just feel like Bloom is going to want to make a splash and will be looking to identify a top shelf chip. Determining if Wetherholt can be an everyday MLB SS will be a test of the new gaggle of clipboards and polo shirts.

I would say there is a higher likliehood that Winn is offered a long term extension if he has another stellar year in 2025. Winn and Weatherholt can exist on the same roster.

And speaking of bat speed, I saw this. Maybe Arenado will come up with a big year. On the other hand, Donovan is down a little. And look at former Redbird Tommy Edman.

2025 Spring Training Bat Speed increasers/decreasers (min. +5 swings in 2025, +100 competitive swings in 2024)

Yes I know it is spring training but Sonny Gray was awful today. Had to be relieved in the second third and fourth innings. Had no command of any of his pitches.

On another note, during the broadcast they stated that the Marlins have a pitching machine that uses AI to replicate opponents starting pitchers. Said all of the Marlins hitters used it this morning while it replicated Sonny Gray. I wonder if we have this system?

My understanding is they do have it, as one of, if not the last team to get it.

Isn’t this the time of year when the Cardinals announce that one of their starting pitchers (Sonny Gray) is going to be shut down and eventually lost for the season.

The AI pitching machine is humorous. It’s no wonder these guys can’t make contact.

    Sonny Gray got pounded today.

Luken baker his 4th dong of the spring.

I had three Catfish Fiddlers this past Friday, 14 March.

Soon we will have DDR (Din-Din Reports) almost every day.

p.s. I survived the tornado that went right past my house late Friday/early Saturday morning. I was going to head downstairs but I couldn’t find Whitey Herdog (she was under the bed) so I just sat on my couch. I do have siding missing, guttering gone, tree limbs in my yard, and my post on my mailbox snapped in two.

Wow Rats – glad you escaped any further damage.

We had corned beef and cabbage this evening as a pre-St Patty’s dinner.

Mildly interesting side story. The lineup is always posted in the clubhouse, but MLB rules have banned photography there. So for us, they tape a copy to the media check in table outside. That works.

To the lineup, the two CF and two utility infield candidates are playing, with the DH being a player who was sent down yesterday.
