After taking Thursday off…
5:45 p.m.
RHP Erick Fedde (2-3, 4.78) vs. LHP Mitchell Parker (3-2, 3.48)
Apple TV+ // KMOXMay 7, 2025 at 5:52 pm #281481Ah nice an Apple TV+ game…. Whoever sold games to Apple needs to be taken out back and shot.
May 7, 2025 at 7:21 pm #281482That’s much too humane. Paper cuts and salt…
May 7, 2025 at 7:34 pm #281484Boo Apple TV.
May 7, 2025 at 7:46 pm #281487We won’t get to see Fedde’s quality start. I won’t because I’ll be working.
May 8, 2025 at 5:44 am #281491Whoever from MLB who negotiated the deal with Apple probably received a hefty bonus. Fans be damned when big $$$ is involved.
“In March 2022, Apple Inc. signed a seven-year deal with MLB for the Friday Night broadcasts for $85 million per year, a total value of $595 million.”
May 8, 2025 at 9:37 am #281502I’d guess that’s chicken feed in comparison to the deal they cut with bet365. When that thing really gets rolling, they’ll need a forklift and deck crane to gather up and all the cash.
May 9, 2025 at 9:16 am #281539$85,000,000 divided by ($15 per month x 6 month baseball season = $90) = 944,444.44 new subs needed to cover that payment to MLB.
So, if adding the baseball games nets about a million new 6 month subs in the aggregate it’s a break even for Apple. I hope they are losing their ass
May 9, 2025 at 11:11 am #281548Advertising revenue is also a consideration.
May 9, 2025 at 4:06 pm #281558It looks like most of the rain has moved out of the DC area. However, there does appear to be a small cell making its way towards Washington. Might not affect the game though.
And din-din today was indeed a CCFF!

May 9, 2025 at 4:40 pm #281560Rumor is Herrera is in the lineup tonight and hitting 6th and DH.
May 9, 2025 at 4:45 pm #281561The first of nine on the road. But hey, Iván Herrera is back, batting sixth as the DH today.
Here are the #STLCards behind Erick Fedde and on Apple tonight
1. Nootbaar 7
2. Winn 6
3. Donovan 4
4. Arenado 5
5. Contreras 3
6. Herrera DH
7. Walker 9
8. Pagés 2
9. Scott II 8— Katie Woo (@katiejwoo) May 9, 2025
May 9, 2025 at 4:55 pm #281562I wouldnt make assumptions Herrera will be full time DH. They may be easing him back in from the injury. Now he may get more reps there if Burly, Walker, Gorman keep floundering and hitting worse than even Pages.

jj-cf-stlParticipantHere’s to hoping for a big strike zone the next two games. Fedde and Pallante need to stop this baserunners-r-us routine, and throw some clean innings.
May 9, 2025 at 5:35 pm #281565I’m not sure why people think that Herrera is going to be the 2nd coming of Jimmy Foxx???
May 9, 2025 at 6:05 pm #281566
jj-cf-stlParticipantWalk, walk, single, dbl
2-0 StLMay 9, 2025 at 6:07 pm #281567Abrams leads off the bottom of the 1st with a double. Soon we will be behind. Get Matz up and ready.
Doomed.
We are doomed.

jj-cf-stlParticipantPages has all pitches in play, getting outs on a sinker, changeup and sweeper.
May 9, 2025 at 6:22 pm #281569
jj-cf-stlParticipantIt’s a big zone. Be swinging boys.
May 9, 2025 at 6:35 pm #281570
jj-cf-stlParticipantDbl, single, sac fly
3-0 StLMay 9, 2025 at 6:42 pm #281571
jj-cf-stlParticipant36 pitches after 3 IP for Fedde.
May 9, 2025 at 6:55 pm #281572
jj-cf-stlParticipantDbl, WP, sac fly
4-0 StLMay 9, 2025 at 7:26 pm #281573Had the game on the radio, but it’s hard to hear it with a leaf blower and trimmer all revved up. All done with the yardwork and just now looking at the box tells me the fellas don’t want this W streak to end. The other day I thought to myself that if the Cardinals keep getting these nice turns from the rotation this streak may extend into July…
May 9, 2025 at 7:31 pm #281574I’m not sure why people think that Herrera is going to be the 2nd coming of Jimmy Foxx???
No one has said he would be anywhere near that. I will be happy if Herrera is an above average hitter (110 wRC+) as that would make him a very valuable big leaguer. Looks like he is doing alright so far tonight. I would expect you to like Herrera Rats as he will be one of the higher BA players on the Cards with his hit tool.

jj-cf-stlParticipantStrip steak, mushed taters all dressed up, Bush baked beans and a chunk of red onion. Mercy, that was good.
