I’m disappointed Granillo doesn’t get more love here. I fully believe he’s going to have the best career of our relief only guys in the minors. That includes Loutos, Svanson, Roycroft, and certainly Nunez.
I do like Henderson and Honeyman as next best options on the board but I’d like to see Granillo and Cho get ranked first. Mejia is just behind them. And one more surprise pick coming up soon who I don’t think is even going to make Brian’s list, but who probably should (no, it’s not my guy Rincon – he’s not until around 40).
23. Granillo
24. ChoWhen Granillo has pitched in AAA, the more advanced hitters just wait him out because he has trouble throwing strikes. Check out his BB/9 in Memphis. Check out his BB/9 in general, and note that there has been no improvement. The high K rate is intoxicating, though. He may well get a chance this year, but I think he will have trouble with ML hitters.

24. Travis James Honeyman – So much potential. TJ needs to bust a move in 2025……and I believe we’ll see that. It’s not far fetched that next year at this time he’ll be occupying one of our top 10 spots.23. Padilla
24. RodriguezI’ve got Mejia in this range as well and like him. I don’t think he will be a great hitter, but he could be decent. Out of Levenson, Cho, and Honeyman, I am the highest in Honeyman and lowest on Cho. Honeyman has good pop potential and I think has the best upside. Cho just hits way too many ground balls and should have more pop, but he simply can’t hit Hard. Levenson has decent pop potential as well.

Do you mean Sammy Hernandez? If so, then no. I actually like him and have him over a few of the people TCN has already voted. I have Hernandez at 21 personally, but still sticking to my guns and voting for upside with Padilla and Rainiel Rodriguez as I have them #12 and #13.

Hard to rank because he only played 20 games in all of 2024. According to reports, he has lot’s of potential. Could be a centerfielder that hits. Runs well, 33 steals and only 5 CS in college.26. Sammy Hernandez
Eyecatching defense behind the plate. Has shown some power with more expected. 5’7 tall when drafted by Blue Jays at age 19, now listed at 5’8. Turned 20 years old last June.For me…
25. Ixan Henderson. He did great at Palm Beach (like that entire rotation) and then more than held his own in Peoria. He spent the fall in Arizona, and while the results weren’t amazing, he did display some strikeout stuff (16 Ks in 12 IP). I like him as the third best lefty in the system after our two top 7 prospects.
26. Sammy Hernandez, C. He’s at the head of the next tier of catchers after our two top 10 guys. With Crooks going to Memphis and Bernal to Springfield, Hernandez is set to get the nod at Peoria. His overall 118 wRC+ at Palm Beach looks good, but he’ll need a little more pop to make it to the show. He does display good patience at the plate and appears to be a solid defender.
