July 10, 2026 at 7:05 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #93 thread – Friday, July 10 vs. Atlanta Braves #312521Congrats to Ivan! Glad he was selected but would have thought Wetherholt or Burleson might have been ahead of him.
July 8, 2026 at 8:11 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #91 thread – Wed, July 8 vs. Milwaukee Brewers #312347Based on how this series has played out so far, do you bring O’Brien in to pitch the 7th?
Just kidding but dang it would be nice to hold a lead for a change.Congrats to O’Brien for being added to the All-Star team.
Congrats to Jordan Walker for being a first time all-star.
Thought JJ and O’Brien might make it but they didn’t.June 24, 2026 at 8:15 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #78 thread – Wednesday, June 24 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks #310954Ouch…Dobbins not any better for Memphis today. 4 earned runs in 4 innings.
Also Gorman now 1-9 with 6 strikeouts.June 24, 2026 at 8:03 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #78 thread – Wednesday, June 24 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks #310951Libbies ERA is now 5.66. With the hope that Dobbins enters the rotation moving forward, what do you do with him? Bullpen? Memphis? Trade for a box of sunflower seeds?
Pretty sure this won’t amount to much. But curiosity is real. Anyone know if it will be live streamed?

June 21, 2026 at 4:18 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #75 thread – Sunday, June 21 at Kansas City Royals #310569Finally got to turn the game on 5 minutes ago. Saw the last 2 outs. Guess I missed 22 runs being scored. Going to have to watch the condensed game highlights.
June 19, 2026 at 9:54 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #74 thread – Friday, June 19 at Kansas City Royals #310455Nice comeback but you can’t give up 6 and expect to win very many. 6-5 final
June 19, 2026 at 9:25 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #74 thread – Friday, June 19 at Kansas City Royals #310452That was a sweet 4-6-3 put out by KC to end the 8th. Not a great game to watch as a Cardinals fan but that play was pretty impressive.
Then Wetherholt one ups that play in the bottom half by making a diving stop on a ground ball the ricocheted off the pitchers foot and throwing the runner out while sitting.-

June 19, 2026 at 8:25 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #74 thread – Friday, June 19 at Kansas City Royals #310440For those of you not watching, at least you don’t have to see these ugly Royals uniforms. I know that teams make some extra money with these special uniforms but man some of them are ugly.
Royals put up an ugly crooked number in the 4th and take a 4-2 lead.June 19, 2026 at 7:22 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #74 thread – Friday, June 19 at Kansas City Royals #310432Good start. Herrera walk followed by Burleson double.
Walker with a SF to make it 1-0.June 19, 2026 at 6:36 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #74 thread – Friday, June 19 at Kansas City Royals #310428The can o corn reference brings back great memories of playing back in the day. There are some great baseball terms. Off the top of my head:
Texas leaguer
Ducks on the pond
Frozen rope
Uncle Charlie
Unhook the train-

June 19, 2026 at 6:27 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #74 thread – Friday, June 19 at Kansas City Royals #310427Good news = I get AppleTV so can watch
Bad news = There is a line of rain slowly moving into the greater KC area according to my trusty phone radar.Din din tonight was pork loin with smashed new potatoes in the air fryer and the rest of the watermelon from yesterday.
June 18, 2026 at 7:30 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #73 thread – Thursday, June 18 at Kansas City Royals #310330If we were a few games under .500 like most expected you could afford to give Liberatore a chance to figure it out. But given that we are actually in a pennant race you have to consider another option when one of your starters is sporting a 5.23 ERA.
June 18, 2026 at 7:22 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #73 thread – Thursday, June 18 at Kansas City Royals #310327I second the embarrassing motion.
June 18, 2026 at 7:19 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #73 thread – Thursday, June 18 at Kansas City Royals #310325Defense hasn’t helped but Libby is getting shelled. Surely some pitching starved team would take him off our hands for a low level prospect.
Din din was a bowl of beef udon noodles, a few steamed dumplings and some tasty chilled watermelon.
Royals with 2 more hits and 2 more runs while typing this. 6-2 RoyalsJune 10, 2026 at 5:37 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #65 thread – Wednesday, June 10 at New York Mets #309466Interesting note. We have the exact same record as last season 36-28.
As for this evenings din-din, I had a family lunch at the Oklahoma famous Hideaway Pizza so for dinner it was leftover pizza.June 9, 2026 at 7:12 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #64 thread – Tuesday, June 9 at New York Mets #309384Gorman’s body language after his strikeout looked like he was ready to give up. You almost have to feel sorry him at this point. I hope he figures it out but I’m not expecting it at this point. I assume they will give him another 2 months of runway but if the Cards somehow continue to be in the playoff hunt I don’t think they can afford to.
June 9, 2026 at 7:02 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #64 thread – Tuesday, June 9 at New York Mets #309379So far so good with the new lineup. Time will tell of course but it is definitely an improvement offensively.
Din-din this evening was Garlic Parmesan Chicken and Spinach wraps with a can of mandarin orange slices as a side.June 6, 2026 at 4:14 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #62 thread – Saturday, June 6 vs. Cincinnati Reds #309141What a game! Glad we still had a pitch challenge left. Stewart thought he had walked and was already tossing his equipment towards the dugout.
June 5, 2026 at 11:14 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #61 thread – Friday, June 5 vs. Cincinnati Reds #309086We should start referring to Leahy as the opener and not the starter.
On that same note, who starts 5 days from now?June 5, 2026 at 5:08 pm in reply to: St. Louis 2026 Game #61 thread – Friday, June 5 vs. Cincinnati Reds #309038Lower body soreness could be about anything.
I know Scott hasn’t hit well but is anyone else disappointed in his inability to bunt successfully. I seem to remember that one of the off-season narratives was that he was working on his bunting so he could do it more.
Din-din tonight – I am helping my Lions Club serve a free breakfast this weekend and my job was to cook the sausage so spent about 2 hours this morning and cooked 420 sausage links on my Blackstone griddle. Since the griddle was already hot and out I cooked some chicken breasts which I used this evening to make a creamy chicken and spinach pasta. Had some chilled watermelon as a side. -
