Ribeye steak in the Air Fryer??!? That is a clear cut case of animal abuse! Got some kids-in-law over so I’m trying to keep sane while munching on oreos and following the game online.
I like the idea of 2 guys hitting 3rd at same time, Mike, but one should be lefty and one righty so they each have a chance to hit it. And MrsPerkins has been slow cooking Corned Beef and has just started on the cabbage and potatoes as I got home from work. Should be done in time for first pitch.
Well, possibly Carpenter still thinks he can play and if he plays everyday and continues to stink it up he will walk away. That’s about the only rationale I can fathom for downgrading the defence between Carp and O’neil
It sure looks like we did well to pass on Joc Peterson despite many saying he would be perfect here. Reading comments on MLBtraderumors(due to him being DL’d) from people who have been watching him regularly and they are not complimentary.

Replays of Carpenter appear like he made a fantastic slide to get around the tag but not enough evidence to overturn it. Williams looked like he knew they were going to try to get him to chase with pitcher on deck and did a good job laying off and accepting the walk.
Flaherty doesn’t look like he is nibbling. He is just flat out missing his targets. Hoping he loosens up as it warms up.
I do not like Gant or Ponce in the rotation either. At least Gant has value in the pen. Even when Gant and Ponce are “efficient” they are nearing 100 pitches in 5 innings.
It hasn’t helped that Nola is now getting 2 inches off the plate on both sides. That pitch to Molina wasn’t close.
Williams line the last week or so must be fairly nice to get him above .200 after that horrible start. Hoping he is over the jitters. If he put it all together he could be Heyward lite with the funky swing but without elite defence.
Wow. I understand bagging on Bader’s hitting issues but he is an excellent center fielder. He passes the eye test and all the metrics. Don’t let your disdain for him cloud the things he does that are positive. It’s almost like you are just trying to pick a fight.
I, for one, also appreciated the Holmes reference Puggs and Rat. As for describing those who continued to watch as AAA fans, they may soon find themselves in AA. Needing a sponser. I hear that Hurst got a hearty boo for his debut. Those Philly fans…always keeping it classy.
On Strasburg, there is article on Mlb.com where he is upset that tunnel cameras showed him massaging neck/shoulder area when he thought he was in privacy. They list more info about his velocity drop as well.
I saw some mention earlier of Oviedo not pitching much this spring. I saw it mentioned by someone in another thread that he DID get normal work , but it was on back fields or “B” games. So he should be plenty stretched out.
Muddled would be a compliment for describing Shannon on KMOX. The little attempt at humor about captain hook that made absolutely no sense just left the other announcer speechless. I think best case scenario is to have him tip back a few frosty ones and let instinct take over. Sober addled Shannon is just confusing. I was hoping Goldy would hit for O’Neal in the big at bat, glad it turned out how it did. I think Gallegos is the stabilizing force in the pen. How he goes this year will go a long way toward the team contending.
