Just saw that. Anyone know if that saves us any money via insurance?April 11, 2021 at 11:44 am #157724
No I don’t think so. We will still pay $14.75M on Dexter unless there is some kind of insurance policy.April 11, 2021 at 8:07 pm #157839
Wow, that really is too bad. Was hoping Dex would have a good year out there with fellow ex-Redbird Albert Pujols.
Albert off to another slow start. Hitting just .150 with an OPS+ of 35 (which is actually “OPS-“).April 11, 2021 at 8:24 pm #157841
I wonder if it will create an opportunity for Jon Jay who is on Angels taxi squad. Or was last I heard.April 11, 2021 at 9:06 pm #157843forsch31ParticipantFree
Just watched a play in the Phillies-Braves game. Marcel Ozuna caught a fly ball in shallow left field with a runner on third. He could barely get the ball to home plate to make it a close play. I think the umpires and replay both got the call wrong. The runner should have been out because he never touched home plate but he was called safe. The point is that Ozuna has NO arm left.April 12, 2021 at 7:30 am #157858
Here is the play. Ozuna’s throw was a two-bouncer, but at least it was on line. The home plate ump totally blew the call.April 12, 2021 at 8:38 am #157864
A throw like that you shouldn’t get the call. At least it wasn’t one of those worm burners Colby Rasmus used to throw now and then.April 12, 2021 at 9:32 am #157871
As we all know Ozuna should be a DH. He will be next year.April 12, 2021 at 12:00 pm #157883April 14, 2021 at 9:09 am #158100
Ildemaro Vargas has joined the Cubs from their alternate site.April 14, 2021 at 7:03 pm #158155
Did anyone see Shelby Miller’s line coming out of the Cubs bullpen to face Milwaukee? Zero IP, 2 hits, 3 walks and four earned runs.
Wow, talk about no command and no stuff.April 14, 2021 at 7:10 pm #158156
I wonder if he hit the screen with any.April 14, 2021 at 7:12 pm #158157
Wild Thing! Kind of ironic that the Cubs have both Heyward and Miller, neither of whom has been as productive as it looked like they would be when they were dealt for each other, and had great 2015 seasons.April 15, 2021 at 9:54 pm #158204April 16, 2021 at 5:47 pm #158288

Do we have any interest in Jon Jay?April 16, 2021 at 6:28 pm #158305
Why? Because he was once a Cardinal?April 16, 2021 at 8:33 pm #1583421982 willieParticipantPaid - Annual

Would Jon Jay be a better option than Williams, Thomas, and Dean? Or O’Neill as well?April 18, 2021 at 5:09 pm #158524jj-cf-stlParticipantPaid - Annual
In Gombers last start, at LAD, he went 6 IP, 3 ER and left ahead 5-3 before the pen lost it 7-5.
Through 3 GS he has a 15.1 IP, 6 ER and a 136 ERA+. One start in COL and two road starts.April 18, 2021 at 5:10 pm #158525jj-cf-stlParticipantPaid - Annual
