I wonder if there will be any fireworks in this series after what happened in St. Louis two weeks ago. Guess we shall see.

    FYI,
The Pirates were the 6th team since 1901 to win a game without a hit. History. And I watched the entire game. Well, me and Whitey Herdog, that is.

We hope that both you and WhiteyHerDog are on the mend, Rat. One would think a trip to the Gasthof would be just what the doctor ordered as far as getting you two back in the ballgame. What’s for din-din for me tonight you may ask? Leading off, we have a full chicken(if you’ve never put melted butter over your chicken meat, you have no idea what you’re missing) dinner. Stepping up to the plate next are some mashed potatoes and asparagus spears. Then on deck for dessert looms homemade apple pecan pie with Breyer’s vanilla ice cream gracing it’s top.

Thanks Pugs. Whitey is about the same and she is going to the Vet on Wednesday morning for her yearly shots, medicine, claws trimmed, etc. I’ll see what the Vet has to say then.

And I am still under the weather. No sleep at all last night. Finally fell asleep about 6:00. Just got out of bed about 1:00 today.

Din-din was a small NY Strip steak, a few jumbo crinkle cut fries, piece of cherry pie, and a Mt. Dew. Me and Whitey are planning on being on the couch for this one tonight. And then on the couch for the Arizona at the Dodgers late game out west. Probably be a couple of 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars during the evening in spite of my not feeling well.

I think this is good for the Cards. Alot of doubleheaders are split. That’s all I am hoping for in this four game series.

Besides, this gives Pujols an extra day of rest. Now he will be available to pitch in relief on Tuesday.

Would someone please tell Rat that Albert’s career ERA is 36.00.

The question would undoubtedly be best presented to Skippy and all of the good people over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau, but if I had to guess, I’d say twin bills are split 76% of the time. Think BIG, Rat …..be thinking 4-4.

If Albert can find another 40 mph on his fastball, he just might be able to cut that ERA in half, Bling. No offense to Albert intended, but honestly, I think Rob Reiner could have hit one of his meatballs out of the park last night.

The Brewers win over Atlanta tonight 1-0. The Braves threw this one away – literally. The only run scored in the last of the 6th on a 2 strike, 2 out, wild pitch. Cards now trail Milwaukee by three games.

Here’s an amazing stat I ran across. From late 2002 till early 2004 Eric Gagne of the Dodgers recorded 84 consecutive saves. Not one blown save. That’s almost mind boggling to me.

Packy Naughton is the 27th player allowed for the double-header.

Mikolas is pitching Game 1 as previously announced.

I wonder if Matz will hear it from the Mets faithful?

Looking forward to these two games today. Tomorrow is Whitey Herdog’s Veterinarian appt and I am still somewhat under the weather but we are both good to go for today’s DH. I wonder who will be announcing with Danny Mac?

And din-din today will be fried chicken from the deli at the grocery. Along with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, some chocolate ice cream, and a Sunkist Orange. Then a cigar. Or two. Or three today.

Well Rats looks like I’m in for a treat. Just mowed the yard and came in to find out MLB extra innings has the early game on! I get to see it on cable! Yards got to wait now. Mikolas is pitching and Tyler O’Niels back in left! Two idiot fans right behind home plate harrassing Yadi going back to the backstop to pick up a passed ball. Some people just got too much money to have those seats.Unless they’re 2 bums that snuck in and grabbed em.LOL ! Go Cardinals!

Mets up 1 in Bottom of 2nd on 2 walks and 1 hit bases loaded jam. Rbi scores one trading for one out. Mikolas refinds the strike zone. A bit of a rocky start.Donovan gets a lead off single!
Din-din will be Taco Tuesday at Taco Belle so I can maybe catch the 2nd game too!

Well, that umpire screw-up fortunately only cost us a coupla extra pitches.

By the way, din-din tonight was spinach and Boursin quiche and a crunchy salad. Strawberries for dessert.

Thats a nice dun-din CIF . Carlsons got a nice swing. This Mets pitchers pitching us alot inside but his pitch count is rising quick. May get him out soon.

Boy on the days Arenado, Goldy, and Edman don’t hit this team is in trouble. How many more years do Bader and O’Neill get to prove they can’t hit?

Yep. Those bats are a little frosty today. Somebody needs to wake up.
