Not consistent hitting – man we need bats
Glass arms – not sure what is being done but the starting pitchers are always hurt.Someone mentioned it above, but something has to change, the walks are just brutal as was the loss last night. Maddux needs to figure out SOON if it’s the mechanics or the mental that is causing all the walks. As much as it pained me that he did not also implode, it was almost fun watching Kimbrel throw strikes.
Agree with the no to the DH but I think it’s coming whether we purists like it or not. As long as the front office finds someone other than Carpenter to be ours, I can learn to stomach it (maybe). It does remove a lot of what a manager has to do.
No to not allowing defensive shifts. If guys like Carpenter would work at hitting the other way or hell bunting down the third base line they get more hits and teams stop shifting. It’s on the batters to adjust and not try to grip it and rip it.
The 7 inning double header thing is a joke. I am sure it is based on pitching and using arms but hell, most teams have 12 pitchers now.
The starting with a runner at second is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO little league.
Not sure what the answer is for balls and strikes, but when I coached all I asked was that it was consistent so the hitters know what to look for. I really think replay has allowed umpires to get lazy.

No need to panic as ugly as last night was, and it was UGLY. Reyes walks are an issue, but he is not alone. Heck did I hear correctly that there have been 22 bases loaded walks this year? 22, yikes just way to many free passes in that situation as well as when they are not loaded. Pitching and hitting coaches both need to be told fix the issues or we will look for someone new to do it.
Another inning with a lead off double and the runner didn’t move. Just bad bad baseball. We need bats.
That’s an easy one my man. Have fun with your granddaughters. If my grandson was over this weekend that’s exactly what I’d be doing, playing outside with him. Way more fun no question about it.

Nootbar’s last at bat is typical of this year. Takes three great pitches, one that was a strike called a ball and then strikes out on a pitch way out of the zone. Just lost a series to the freaking Pirates.
To watch this team set baseball back 100 years again or to play with the granddaughters and get something meaningful and joyful out of my evening.
This team is so damn awful. The Tiger and now the Pirates putting it to them. This team has possibly one major league outfielder on the roster and this offense is setting baseball back 100 years. Just putrid.
How does an organization have zero outfielders that can hit? Carlson shows signs of being able too, the rest are just not big leader hitters. This team is so offensively challenged it is scary.
