Cards need a win in the worst way. Hell, they need to string 5-6 together to move back into the EXPANDED playoffs.

I’ve always said you don’t know what you have until the end of May but that is getting here soon. Last year it took a freak 17 game winning streak out of nowhere to salvage an otherwise forgettable season….

The Cardinals are not terrible nor are they really very good. Same story since the middle of the 2015 season.

I will say that there are a handful of young potential impact players that are ready or close to ready for a big league shot unlike the past couple of years where that has not been the case.

Think we could get Wander Franco in a birds on the bat uniform in time for the first pitch today, hehehehehe? Not that he would alone make enough difference for this sorry squad.

Here’s my biggest fear. If the starting pitching improves a bit, but the hitting doesn’t, we’re going to get that horrible outcome of quality starts without wins. Also, middle relief is looking awful. But that is less an issue with quality starts going 6 1/3 innings or so.

Edman starts the day with a beautiful diving stop on the outfield grass.

Molina doubles off the wall in rightcenter. Carlson’s groundout gets him to 3rd. Donovan doubles in Molina and the Redbirds jump on top 1-0. Sosa now up.

Din-din was a repeat of yesterday. Center cut rib chop in the air fryer, Bush’s baked beans, Lay’s bar-b-q chips, and a Sunkist Orange. Then a piece of Strawberry Pie from the Amish restaurant. And as soon as I hit submit a 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigar.

Hudson at 44 pitches after 3 so we’ll see how deep he can go.

Had a nice veal filet steak, French fries and a salad, with a coupla glasses of Morgon to wash it down. Finished with some fresh strawberries spread over a bowl of Haagan Dasz vanilla I scream.

Hudson was somewhat underwhelming, but he still leaves the game with a 2-0 lead.

Whew that was a close one. 2 yrs ago Maddux would have left him in so the Giants could catch up. Glad we got a quick hook this year.

Pretty even on stats. Looks like our pitching was a little better. Didn’t give anything away on defense. Got some runs with rbi’s
Thats the way to do it! Go Cardinals!
