BlackHillsCard, Could you please post your draft spreadsheet? I have run the numbers and I can’t get the same result so I must be figuring something wrong. I think my problem is figuring the bottom ten slots and maybe the 5% overage that the team is allowed before penalties. Thanks for taking the time to post!
Using BlackHills numbers from above, the Cards would have $505,455 left with the 5% overage included to sign the remaining two draft picks. I could be off on my calculations, but that should be close. Went over on the top ten by $177,900.

Thanks, Brian! I am curious to see what the Cardinals do to accommodate all the extra players. Can you fill us in on roster limits on the lower minor league teams?
With the draft over now and things starting to settle down (except for draft picks signing and UDFA signings); were you planning a new or updated Matrix with the two DSL teams now playing? Interested to see where all the new draftees end up playing and if current players will have to get cut to make room! What are the roster limits for the various leagues?
I have a roster type question that has me confused. On June 1, 2021, Memphis Redbirds placed RF Clint Coulter on the 60-day injured list. Then, on June 24, Memphis Redbirds activated RF Clint Coulter from the 60-day injured list. I’m pretty good at math and that is not 60 days! How were they able to do this? They also show him as a RF, not as a catcher as the matrix has him. Hasn’t been a C since 2014. I’m sure there is a logical reason they were able to bring him back before the 60 day period, but it has me baffled!
The FCL Transaction page shows RHP Reinys Portillo going to Palm Beach from FCL, but the Matrix has that switched.
Please do keep us updated on anything you hear about DSL news! They have a bunch of players to evaluate and train!

Nogowski is still listed on Cardinals and Memphis squads. This could be the cause of the number discrepancy. Holiday weekend so I assume things just haven’t caught up yet!
I am also interested in the DSL. Saw a report that at least one team is not fielding a DSL team this year. Is the season in jeopardy this year due to COVID-19?
Did I miss that Pimentel was released? I noticed that he is gone from DSL Blue but can’t find any info on him anywhere else. Was he part of the shuffle that occurred a few days ago?
Just saw that Peoria added another Indy pitcher named Cory Thompson. Lots of potential help coming since our pitching depth has been erratic!

The fact that not much injury info is being made public is not really unusual. The Cards keep that info pretty close to the vest. I can see where that would be helpful so other organizations don’t know all your business! I am very interested to see how the organization deals with the pitching crisis and what trades will happen and who is included in those trades!
Noticed that Tommy Jew was playing for Palm Beach today. They needed help since two outfielders were put on 7 day IL today as well. (Rpmeri and Cruz) And on a day of rest for Walker and Jones they pull out a 4 – 1 win! We will take it!
Looks like Bryce Denton has been released! 2nd round pick in 2015. I wonder how many others will be cut this year with the subtraction of several teams?
