Thanks for the info, Brian; but I was asking about the MLB or MiLB site not having any info on Corbett. I did see that he was on the STEP Camo list, but they don’t have him listed under any team online. Just wondered why he doesn’t show up there. I really only knew about him from your site and the matrix. Sorry if I didn’t make that very clear.
Brian, or whoever, can you help solve a mystery? I can’t seem to find the name Joe Corbett on any Cardinals roster, nor do I see anything in any of their transaction pages with his name. Is he in camp, and what team will he be on? According to the matrix, he is with Memphis.

Well, dang. I was holding out hope that somehow Montgomery would still end up a Cardinal again.
Well, he can……… next year!
To answer Brian’s question, I would think Young will get the DFA, but they could be working on a small trade as well. Maybe they will trade Fermin!
As far as who plays CF if Scott goes down, Siani would be the first choice, but Koperniak started 13 games in CF last year for Memphis. Nobody is talking about him, but I thought he hit pretty well in Spring. My guess is King will draw the short straw.
Sounds like Thompson will be starting and Libby in the pen to start the season.
Cardinals left-hander Matthew Liberatore got good news today. I asked him about his reaction to him and Zack Thompson making the club. #STLCards pic.twitter.com/lURwnkLMf5

NRI players left in Major league camp right now:
Koperniak, Leahy, Prieto, Raposo, W Rodriquez, Saggese, Scott, Stauss.Bling listed the two pitchers that have been optioned. Possible position players moving back to AAA are:
Young, A Rivas, L Baker, Fermin, Siani, Burleson, Pages. Depending on injuries, some OF on this list may be on the opening day roster.Possible pitchers being optioned down are:
King, Romero, Rom, Robertson, O’Brien, Liberatore, Thompson, Pallante, and Rule 5 pick Fernandez. Not all of these will be sent down, but some will have to be. Fernandez would have to be offered back if he is sent down.Lots of decisions to be made!

The crowd really got excited when we loaded the bases in the ninth and Luken Baker came up! But alas, mighty Casey struck out.
Red means a left handed hitter, blue is switch hitter, and black is right handed.
Quick update on the game today, Pallante actually bobbled the ball on the play to 2nd base and no play was made. Thanks to Rob Rains for helping me remember what happened! Really impressed with most of the pitchers today.
I remember one of those hit back to Pallante was a close play at first, but the runner beat it out. I am foggy on the other play. Must have been eating a hot dog then! I think that was the play where he threw to second to get the lead runner but either the throw was offline or the 2nd baseman/shortstop was not close enough to the base to get the force out. He turned a key double play when he caught a liner back to him and threw to first to double off the runner. He was able to get out of the inning with only one run scored, but it could have been much worse. Good game overall, with some good plays by Fermin and Siani. Carlson also played well offensively and made a good catch in center. And of course, Goldy hit a home run!
Told you the first home run would be today! Woo-hoo! Go cards!
I am calling for the first homer of the Spring to be on Tuesday, which will be my first Spring Training game! Don’t care who hits it, but the offense needs to start to pick it up. I will also be at the game on Thursday, providing rain doesn’t cause any problems. Looking forward to reporting back to you all on what I see. Maybe I will get to meet some of the players and even some of the reporters that I read everyday.
He is a “former Cardinal” now!

Maybe Fermin will be DFA’d!
There are white jerseys with the requisite ad patches hanging in lockers today. There is not one at José Fermín’s locker, since there’s about to be a new owner of number 35.

Not really a signing yet, but a promise to….
Michael Cordero, (3B) son of MLB pitcher Francisco Cordero will be signing with the Cardinals next signing period when he is old enough.

Brian, (or anyone else who knows the answer) when do the minor league clubs start their Spring Training? I saw that the FCL is starting earlier this year (May 4 – July 25) so they could start after the Cardinals vacate Roger Dean. But with Memphis scheduled to play on March 29 and the rest of the full season clubs beginning April 5; they will need to be starting by early March at least. Has anyone heard when these teams report to camp? More curious than anything, but hope to catch a look at several MiLB players while at ST.
