He won it by robbing a home run and hitting 37 home runs. I’m assuming that was only play people saw him make that season
I’m not sure what I just saw. I guess it was ozuna climbing the wall for a warning track fly ball
Gant doing more good work. Great to see. I do get a little scared for the next night when brebbia and Gant both pitch. But let’s win this one first
At least we didn’t sign Joe Kelly. Look at that era
Yeah the ozuna hate is overblown in my opinion. The fielding is truly terrible but his bat still deserves time to come around. I think if dex is replaced with someone productive it might do wonders for for the lineup. I’d love to see dex succeed but it just doesn’t seem realistic
Love that from waino. If we can get a good start from him every other start, that could be a huge lift for the team. Considering bullpen struggles and everyone other than Wong and Bader having a disappointing first several games on offense, we shouldn’t feel too bad to walk out 4-5. It could’ve been a lot worse with the way we won in Pitt too
Haders career will be over in the next two years with what the brewers are doing to him
I can’t watch this slop anymore. Why can’t we have players that can catch and throw. I already need a few days off

Maybe this team wasn’t quite as close to being a playoff team as last years hot August made us all think. Maybe it’s just a bad first week. After last three years when the same problems show early they’re not going to get the benefit of the doubt
Still early, but hard to get your hopes up when they won’t put the best players on the field/mound
April 5, 2019 at 4:12 pm in reply to: StL 2019 Game 7 thread: Fri 4/5 vs. Padres (Home Opener rescheduled) #85990It’s never good to see a right handed lineup that can’t hit a lefty throwing 87. Guess we need to wait until the seventh before the offense wakes up
Just have the K zone call the game already. Unreal
Literally unreal. I feel like none of these atrocious strike ball calls go out way
Can’t believe Gant escaped that. Every time I’ve stopped watching good things have happened tonight. I might be following on the phone for extras
Unlike holland, miller hasn’t blatantly blown us a game. That brewers debacle was a team effort and included a pop up that should’ve been caught. So I like the continued confidence in miller from schildt
A glance at the batting average column of the box score is not pretty. Good job by Mayers and Leone to hold the line
Bullpen better be ready for some more work tonight
Maybe that double play to escape the jam can get miles back on track
They should just eliminate the home plate umpire and have the K zone call strikes and balls. 2/3 umpires behind home have no idea how to call a consistent strike zone
Not a great feeling win but not a loss. Hopefully we can clean things up a little moving forward
Martinez will be starting at least 50% of the time again soon. Cards need that bat in the lineup
The way Miller is missing is alarming. He’s not even close. But they will use him like he’s 15-17 Andrew Miller until he blows 5-7 games
Yeah calling errors the metric for defense is similar to calling average the metric for hitting. The missed routine fly with the shift on is on both ozuna and Carpenter and doesn’t go as an error. When it went 4-3 there you just had a bad feeling
Hopefully this isn’t the theme of the season but themes in the series seemed quite reminiscent of the last three years
I just watched Connor Jones throw against Judge, and even though the AB ended in a walk, Jones’ stuff exceeded my expectations derived from reading scouting reports. He looks like he could eventually contribute in the bullpen (my observation is based on a very small sample size, but I was not expecting him to be touching 96)
Goldy is not Ozuna. He has 7 consecutive great seasons. We should be happy. As long as we get some bullpen help and not in the form of cheap questionable help. When we signed Cecil people were happy but I didn’t see it in the numbers. You can not argue that goldschimdt is not our best player now
I understand some hesitation but if we solidify the pen I am very happy. This is way bigger than the Ozuna move and everyone wanted Kelly and weaver out. What is to complain about
Nice play by Jedd right on cue
