Well the win streak ends at 1. 3 grand slams given up in 4 games. That’s gotta be some kind of record

We swept the cubs first series last year though and we saw what happened

Just like I said last night. Not too high or low with these. Think you DFA Leone if he’s out of options though. He isn’t good at all. Ready for wacha to be gone. If they don’t sweep back at home I’ll be pretty mad. This wasn’t just a sweep. It was a statement

Bunch of beta males playing alpha males

If I didn’t love baseball in general so much I’d probably reject those free tickets next time. Being in wrigley this weekend was enjoyable for the first 3.5 innings of one game

Not going for the sweep against the nats looks more and more baffling (as I mentioned yesterday). A win tomorrow would be nice. Just trying to not get too high or low based on great home and bad away results against cubs or brewers this year. I think that will be the case all year. Schildt made the right call on the walk to Schwarber but wacha threw a BP ball to a quad A player. Inexcusable

I hate to be a grouch but I’ll be happy when the wacha era is over

This one has just been brutal. Don’t like to lose, but really don’t like to do it like this

Flaherty is still only 23, so I wouldn’t say that is his ceiling. At this point in his career, he is probably a 3 starter though. Really wish we hadn’t given that last game to the Nats, but I do understand the need for rest

The most frustrating part is his pitch count too. In a lot his starts the pen has to go 4+

That makes a lot more sense. Don’t know how I missed that

    Thanks, pugs

I’m really confused by how we start benching Fowler more than ever when he’s hot and playing pretty good defense. I don’t mind it considering we’re on a roll, but I do find it interesting

Yeah the injury last year just seems to be the one he might not get back from. Now hurts himself out of frustration

Really unfortunate but I’m not expecting much out of Reyes either. Haven’t had great luck with the Uber talented prospects materializing recently

Nice to get back out for a day game win after last night

Starting pitching still concerns me a little but I think the lineup, bullpen and defense are for real. Even Dexter has looked better on defense (besides the Syndergaard home run) recently

Goodbye perfect game no hitter and shutout

Ryan Braun comes in and once again shows that karma might not be real

Dexter Fowler is on fire. I always hoped we’d be able to say that again but never truly believed it. Would love to see dex keep this up throughout the year

I mean either way ozuna is a win. Imagine if we wait and are outbid by the brewers for yelich too (price rag much higher). Marcel ozuna is so much better than trotting Randal grichuk out to left field every day

Yeah it would be awesome if every move was perfectly planned and worked out better for the cards than anyone else, but ozuna can not be viewed as a bad move

We gave up alcantara. Maybe he’s a stud but I don’t know if he’s better than the young pitchers we have now and certainly wouldnt be performing better right now. All of our pitchers stats are skewed by bad games against a lefty heavy brewers lineup (and all of these games in miller park). Is that a problem? It’s certainly not good.

At the end of the day we’ve played 18 games and marcel ozuna is crushing the baseball and sandy alcantara would not be helping in any way

Having ozuna is way better than not having ozuna and if we got yelich we would’ve paid a price that people would have complained about for 9 months anyway

A lot of negativity on this board lately and we should let things play out. This is a good baseball team with a potentially great offense and a bullpen really rounding into form. Would be great to get Carlos back in good form. And if that happens, we are a trade for a left handed starter away from making a serious run at the pennant

If anyone knew yelich would turn into babe Ruth after slapping doubles and singles at a 270 average for a couple years before it actually happened, they’re smarter than anyone (including the brewers). Sometimes things work out far better than anyone imagined

.269 with an OBP over .360 is at this point is a lot better than expected. Enough to keep putting him out there (even though there isn’t really a choice)

Hopefully Miller can work around that leadoff double

Forget Yelich. Maybe we shouldn’t pitch to their pitchers

If the brewers just get it out of the infield they have a great shot at a hit tonight

We will continue to pitch to yelich though. Must be hanging out with Braun to go from the hitter he was to this

Why did Robinson pinch hit for O’Neill? If it wasn’t injury related that’s baffling. Guy barely keeps in above the Mendoza line in triple A

He shouldn’t even be on a mlb roster

I was thinking the same thing about Reyes, jager. The contributions we are getting from the pen make that a possibility again

I understand the desire for Gant in the rotation, but maybe he is more valuable in the bullpen. At this point, I feel like he is too valuable to the bullpen to make that change.
