Johan Mieses ends up being the odd man out. He gets sent down to Springfield.
April 5, 2019 at 2:56 pm #85981Well, his one game at Memphis was quite spectacular. Congratulations and see you later!

stlcard25ParticipantFlaherty was hitting 97-98 that inning. Good start.
April 5, 2019 at 3:36 pm #85984Well, FSMW’s coverage of the Opening Day ceremony was disappointing, to say the least. Camera work was dreadful and the background sound was loud enough to drown out the crowd reaction. The latter may have been deliberate.

stlcard25ParticipantOzuna missed a center-center 88 mph pitch in that at bat. Not great.
April 5, 2019 at 3:45 pm #85986Long inning for Flaherty
April 5, 2019 at 4:06 pm #85987
stlcard25ParticipantAnother long inning for Jack, but he gets out of the jam with a K.
Now let’s get some offense going against this lefty.
April 5, 2019 at 4:10 pm #85988Could we PLEASE get something going against this 12-year-old soft-tossing lefty?
April 5, 2019 at 4:12 pm #85989Guess not
April 5, 2019 at 4:12 pm #85990It’s never good to see a right handed lineup that can’t hit a lefty throwing 87. Guess we need to wait until the seventh before the offense wakes up
April 5, 2019 at 4:17 pm #85991Good Lord
April 5, 2019 at 4:22 pm #85992Flaherty’s does his Houdini imitation again!!
April 5, 2019 at 4:25 pm #85993In their last 4 games the #STLCards are a combined 4 of 40 in the first 3 innings and have not scored a run.

stlcard25ParticipantThere we go! Dejong bomb!
1-0 Cards
April 5, 2019 at 4:27 pm #85995DEJONG!!!!!!!
April 5, 2019 at 4:28 pm #85996DeJong bombadier to left off Marge makes this a 1-0 ballgame!
April 5, 2019 at 4:36 pm #85997Say one of the two teams in the Brewers-cubs 3 game series this weekend will sweep…..and you have the power to select who will sweep. Do you take Milwaukee, thus sending them to 8-1 on the young season and the cubbies to a dismal 1-8 start? Or do you opt to pick Chicago and really tighten up the division? I 100% select The Crew to prevail, as seeing the cubbies with that 1-8 record would warm the cockles of my heart to unprecedented temps.

stlcard25ParticipantLooks like yet another high pressure inning for Flaherty. He’s only going 5 today.
April 5, 2019 at 4:43 pm #85999
stlcard25ParticipantNice pitch to get out of it. Jack wasn’t too sharp today but he managed. 1-0 good guys going to the bottom of the 5th.
April 5, 2019 at 4:43 pm #86000Pads strand 8 through 5 and Flaherty should be done for the day.
It wasn’t pretty but he got the job done!
April 5, 2019 at 4:45 pm #86001I NEVER root for the Baby Bears, Pugs.
April 5, 2019 at 4:49 pm #86002That’s the spirit, UCONN!!!
April 5, 2019 at 4:51 pm #86003Leone has been absolute $ this year. Keep on a sailing, Dominic!
April 5, 2019 at 4:53 pm #86004“Looks like yet another high pressure inning for Flaherty. He’s only going 5 today.”
Meanwhile the Padres pitcher has barely broken a sweat. 54 pitches after 5 innings.
April 5, 2019 at 4:56 pm #86005Franchy Cordero…… didn’t the Steelers have a running back by the name of Franchy Fuqua back in the day? Related possibly?
