Johan Mieses ends up being the odd man out. He gets sent down to Springfield.

Well, his one game at Memphis was quite spectacular. Congratulations and see you later!

Flaherty was hitting 97-98 that inning. Good start.

Well, FSMW’s coverage of the Opening Day ceremony was disappointing, to say the least. Camera work was dreadful and the background sound was loud enough to drown out the crowd reaction. The latter may have been deliberate.

Ozuna missed a center-center 88 mph pitch in that at bat. Not great.

    Long inning for Flaherty

Another long inning for Jack, but he gets out of the jam with a K.

Now let’s get some offense going against this lefty.

Could we PLEASE get something going against this 12-year-old soft-tossing lefty?

It’s never good to see a right handed lineup that can’t hit a lefty throwing 87. Guess we need to wait until the seventh before the offense wakes up

Say one of the two teams in the Brewers-cubs 3 game series this weekend will sweep…..and you have the power to select who will sweep. Do you take Milwaukee, thus sending them to 8-1 on the young season and the cubbies to a dismal 1-8 start? Or do you opt to pick Chicago and really tighten up the division? I 100% select The Crew to prevail, as seeing the cubbies with that 1-8 record would warm the cockles of my heart to unprecedented temps.

Looks like yet another high pressure inning for Flaherty. He’s only going 5 today.

Nice pitch to get out of it. Jack wasn’t too sharp today but he managed. 1-0 good guys going to the bottom of the 5th.

Pads strand 8 through 5 and Flaherty should be done for the day.

It wasn’t pretty but he got the job done!

“Looks like yet another high pressure inning for Flaherty. He’s only going 5 today.”

Meanwhile the Padres pitcher has barely broken a sweat. 54 pitches after 5 innings.

Franchy Cordero…… didn’t the Steelers have a running back by the name of Franchy Fuqua back in the day? Related possibly?
